ive been searching the forum. everyone seems to have the HKS bov but no ones got the greddy rs. well i do damn it. i didnt buy it for my newly bought ms3 (2 days old true red grand touring) but i bought it for my speedprotege(didnt work at all, low boost pos.traded it in) does anyone know anything about it. i know im going to need to buy the adapter and all. what i want to know is. is there any problems with like the turkey call and what not by vta? will my rpms do stupid shat? and will it sound like PSHH? i wanna get more info before i go ahead and buy the adapter. so if anyone has any info, please put in your 2 cents or whatever. thanks!

also, im in jacksonville, and i saw a silver ms3 ealier today near walmart. wondering who it was, and if anyone else on this forum lives near here. maybe we can meet up and drive around or so like the bikers do. haha. thanks.
crazy asian.

i run the greddy type S and all is good.
dont be a ricer and run it vta just to sound silly. do it right a recrc it.
if you want noise buy a cai.
i lost 3mpg running vta (just to see) for a week .
the mass air meter will not get proper readings if you are dumping air out of the system

i been running vta for about 1 1/2 weeks...gona change it soon and i have hks...did it for sound because i recorded some clips

That's strange...I have mine VTA and have noticed the same gas mileage. Maybe the way people drive to hear BOV function? Pedal to metal?

yea thats all it is...i drive it and u BAREly hear the bov release..i shift jsut under 2k and i get average 20mpg with my occasionaly race or 0-100 sprint

i can run the greddy rs vta and it wont affect my car at all? i just have to plug up that extra hole right? cuz its just sitting in my room doing nothiung right now, and i want to put it to good use.

yea...i have my hsoe attached and i jsut capped off the long hose that leads under the intake tubing....it doesnt get in the way and when i want to change to recirc it takes 5mins

sweet, im gonna have to get that plug and that adapter. i might just run it both way and see which way works better for me. thanks.

i got everything in one package from cp-e....first time i did it i took the entire hose off and it was bad getting the cap on the far end behind the intake pipes...this is alot easier and u dont gota reach and bulls*** with clamps in very restricted space....

hey clos561, in your bov do you have both the springs in there or just one. cuz i rememberd when i tried putting this bov on my speedprotege i had to take out the smaller spring inside and i missplaced it somewhere. but i got the big spring still. is this still going to work? i remember hearing something like you only want 2 springs in there if your running like 19+ lbs of boost. since were only running 15-16psi im hopeing that itll still work. what do you think.

i didnt get ne extra springs....do u have adjustable hks? im sure the reason for discontinue on those are for leaking boost pressure...this one only has one big spring because i reclocked it so the air stem wouldnt break while shifting and engine jerks.....didnt see any other springs...im trying to find max psi on the current HKS model......anyone know this??!!

oh boy more people who dont listen to good advice.
will your car run like s*** vta..... no
will it hurt mpg.... yes.
will you momentarly run in a rich condition, causing your car to be slower...yes

please research what a MAF is and how it works. then you will realize how dumb it is to run vta on a car that has the maf BEFORE the bov.

if you release air the has already been metered, the ecu expects to get X amount of air but it actually will recieve less. this will push you to run rich for a moment. this will cause premature spark plug and catalytic converter failure.

a cai with a good bov sounds great, and runs great. but if you would rather slow your car down to impress vin diesle in his rice-a-roni powered civic ..........go for it.

lol yea i know recirc is better for the car but for the moment i am vta til i get cai...the backfiring and excessive soot on my bumper are primary reason for my choice of running recirc...along with the fact that the current computer is tuned for recirc...
