Great Turbo on my MP5

im sensing so much negativity around this great opportunity. and I'm not sure why?

The unit being used is I believe the F10....and IT CAN if done properly be used WITH our ECU. The fact that his company has even created a harness that adapts to our ECU means they have done their homework.

HALTECH products are great if developed properly. It seems as if they are using our stock injectors.

Guys...lets face it....this will not be the last turbo kit that will surprise us.... or to take things to the NEXT level.

For example....I heard through the grapevine that ULTIMATE RACING is coming out with a complete kit, similar to their S2000 kit.

I'm sure these guys just got over 50 emails today...I know that I sent them an email.

Yes I am refering to you. Don't call BS on something that was just posted today, you sound like a jackass. Wait a few days and see what kind of info we can dig up on this kit.

If everyone who is interested in making parts for our cars meets that kind of negative attitude then we will have nothing.

Guys, this thread will not turn into a pissing contest! The minute I notice it does, I will be all over it. Let's give HiBoost a chance to respond with some facts, and stop the negativity. In time all truth is revealed, let's wait for it.

Valid point.. But we do have to ask valid questions, and do good reasearch.

If you think I'm gonna believe that ANY exhaust on a four banger can give you 22 whp your crazy!!!

It is possible to pick up that much, depends on how restrictive the stock exhaust is. Most turbo 4 bangers will pick up 12-15 WHP from a bigger exhaust.

On something like the P5, where the factory exhaust wasn't designed for turbo, then yes you may see 22 whp out of exhaust, but it will probably be more like 15.

yep, sorry, I maybe loosing faith, its just that I got enough "issues" to make me already pissed with everything or everyone that has a good kit.

sorry again... :D

Give me an example and I will stand corrected. I personally have yet to see an exhaust give 20whp on a p5 or mp3, now I also haven't seen a turbo p5 or mp3 dyno with a bunch of different exhausts. Now tell me, you say it's possible but do you believe it was done on a p5?

Damn man, what's up?

I'm not smelling any BS yet, we do need to give them sometime to respond though. And just to clear things up, almost no 4 banger gets 22 whp off of a single exhaust mod. FM gained 12whp and 6 lb ft. of torque and that was on a 2.25 inch exhuast. Now if we're talking about a 3 inch then yes, if we're talking about a turbo inline 6 or V6 then yes, but certainly not an everyday occurance on a turbo 4 cylinder from a simple exhaust install. You might gain some good whp numbers at high boost, but you're torque will most likely decrease at low boost. Do keep in mind that we're not talking about another turbo 4 banger here, we're talking about the Protege 5.

Not to sure about that kit! :( 1) Dont like internal watesgate turbos, too factory. 2) That intake pipe is a joke. It flattens, runs over the head, and is way too long! 3) That exhaust manifold looks a little cheap. But hey, if the kit produces those kinda numbers more power to it. I gonna stick with my spool kit because of it's more traditional set up and layout. Also make more power and more room for upgrade!

im going to say a few things i dont want to because i am putting my own kit together so i am trying to impartial.

the hipoint kit is good. it does not use an FMU . the haltech F10 is a great unit. they have programmed it to control the stock injectors and increase the fuel thruout the system using various stock censors. i say again this kit is truethful in what it is marketing but there are drawbacks like i mention on the other thread.one is also that you can only increase duty cycle so much on these stock injectors. i dont know about a fuel pump though and whether or not it has been upgraded.
they DO NOT control ignition timing.
to compensate for for any detonation at high boost or rpm levels they just dump fuel. take it as you may but IMO its not the way to go.
i am not in any way critisizing this kit. i think it is a great kit with a PIGGYBACK ecu. its not stand alone.
personally i am in the proccess like i said in my thread of getting a module to do the same but with ignition control and boost enhancements.
theres alot more i can say but for overall its a great kit but they should have went with a e6k to control timing and do this right the first time.

22whp, I'd say yes in a Twin turbo. but unlikly on ours.

You're thinking right bro. 22whp is way over optimistic for a single bolt on exhaust. perfworks has a damn good point about the possible timing issue. I think Tri-point cam gears or a simple J&S would answer that.

Looks to me like SOME people that just bought Spoolin kits are somewhat Upset that they didnt wait a week or so..
