GPS clamshell won't open

All of a sudden, the GPS clamshell won't open. Pressing the open button produces a faint beep and nothing else. According to the troubleshooting manual, the cause could be a weak or discharged battery, yet the car's battery seems fine. The car was recently serviced and had the battery disconnected. Could it be that something needs to be reset?

Thanks.

Did you try giving it a gentle pry while pushing the open button? That's probably as far as I'd go. There may be a crumb or something stuck in the gear that it pivots on, or some sort or obstruction that may just need a little convincing. Anything more serious than that, and that's why you have a warranty. Definitely find out what it was if you have to take it in. Let us know.

It's obvious that this is probably your cause... especially considering the "faint beep". Warranty coverage is your safest route.

In the meantime, you'll have to settle for one of these... (lol2)

Could be the "technician" forgot to reconnect the Nav cable. In installing a cassett player in my car the techie forgot to reconnect the A/C and heat cables to the center stack controls.
