GP Light Weight Protege pulleys

was hoping to get mine before tommorrow so I could install it in a socal install party...guess I will have to wait till spring break or something.

Everyone with the Protege Crank pulley, do not install it yet. I have had 1 person have the screws on the backing plate back out. The screws are lock tighted in and should not back out. So I need to get to the bottom of it and make sure this is a fluck thing. If you feel you need to install it, put some sealant/RTV over the screws, however, I would rather you wait until I try some tests. So please be patient 1-2 days while I try out a few things.

Damn, hate to hear it but glad to hear it from you first. On the other hand, and I am kidding here, these pulleys are taking up too much of your time & keeping you from doing other parts. lol. But seriously, another fine example of customer service the way it should be. Thanks for being the standard others should follow.

Excuse the n00b question here, but I never really researched pulleys that much, but can someone tell me if underdrive and crank pulleys are the same thing? And does your crank pulley come with the belts?

Ebay has OBX underdrive pulley that sells in the $80 range, and Unorthodox pulley's selling for $180ish (Why the big difference in price?). Then you got your crank pulley, SLS crank pulley going for the $160 range.

I hope someone can tell me the differences between them all thanks.

Underdrive pulleys are smaller in diameter and lighweight..where as brachs is all lightweight and no underdrive. With Brachs crank pulley you can reuse your stock belts if they are in good condition, which you can't do with the unorthodox. Underdriven pulleys are hypothetically supposed to give a little more of a gain, but that is slim to none..because all the gains are found in the lighter weight of the pulley compared to stock.

UD pulleys have their place too. If you rev the snot out of your engine (up to 8,000 like I do) the underdrive pulley reduces water pump cavitation drastically so that you don't end up melting a hole in your block. :D

Maxx knows what he's talking about, i suggest not arguing about it with him

should i still hold off on the Crank Pulley install? i can lock the skrew up with lock tight, my stock balancer is slightly bent

Is anyone having issues with their PM's? Because I have PM'ed a couple of people and it seems they are not getting them including Brach...

Nope. Brach just takes longer to reply since he gets so many. I usually have to send him a couple since he gets flooded...
