any better pics of the WP pulley?

I don't. My camera was on a different type shot with inverted colors when i took them. The anodizer was not finished with them today and they said mid day tomorrow. I will be leaving town tomorrow for a few days with my parents. The anodizer is going to drop them off at my work tomorrow. So when I get back in I'll take some nice shoots and post them.

Has anyone installed theirs yet? I just finished mine. What a PITA! I couldn't actually get the alternator out of the car- sure it was unbolted and unplugged, but I could extract it from the bottom- the drive shaft is in the way. Going out through the top might be possible, but there's alot of stuff to get out of the way.

So anyway, I positioned the alternator so the pulley was facing down, put a strap wrench around the pulley and went to work on the nut with my impact gun. Zip! And then I had to clean up the inside bore of the lightweight pulley with some sand paper because it wouldn't fit all the way onto the alternator shaft. And the installation is the reverse of removal. I didn't torque the nut but instead just let the impact beat away at it on high for a couple seconds. This should be good enough.

No obvious gain in driving, but doing a side by side comparison, the stock pulley is pretty portly so the lightweight one has to be helping out.

Yes he did, but it does take quite a while (2+ weeks) to get here...I would know; I just received another item he sent from another unrelated sale. Don't worry...he sent it :)

Why would you even remove the alt? You don't need too... But then again I don't have the cruise control in the way.

Yeah, the cruise control is a major source of frustration. Are you planning on leaving the alternator still bolted in place when you swap pullies? I considered that, but with the cramped area and not having a 24 mm (I think it needs a 24 mm) wrench, I needed to get a socket on it and keep the alternator from spinning- so that's why I attempted to extract it from the car. But in the end, the way I did it worked.

Good luck to the rest of you. I'm curious to hear of other ways of doing this.

ideally, if you need to remove the alt to put the pully on, the best way Is really to remove the Intake Manifold. That gives you direct access to the alt, the starter and such. Unfortunatlly, in order to do that you have to remove the water outlet.. which means draining the coolant.

As soon as I get home and get both pullies and get them on ill let you know if how I plan on doing it works, im sure brach can tell us all how he installed his though? I do remeber him saying to leave the belt on while breaking the nut loose so that would suggest he left the alt on durring the swap correct?

These are the words of Brach in a pm i sent him

The ALT is a tight fit. I left the belt, put a pry bar between the Alternator and back of the stock pulley. Then from under the car used a wrench to take off the nut. When i put it back on I put the belt on and tighten the nut. use some lock tight when you go it. It took about 30 minutes from start to finish. The WP pulley is easier, but takes longer. It's only 4 bolts.

I posted I was going out of town and am now back. The WP pulleys did show up. The post office was closed today so none left. On Friday a handful did leave (thanks 65racecoupe) and the rest will go out tomorrow and the next day. It takes alot of time to send them all out at once. I send them on my lunch break at work so I can only get about 20-30 a day out. Since I get off work at 6pm, I can't do it after.
There are 41 left to ship. I will post pictures of the part tomorrow when I get back to work.

sub for future updates when the PS goes on sale.

The PS proto type part has been on my girls car since Friday. I will start production this week. I have to get the rest of the WP pulleys out before I move onto the PS ones. It was a 4 day weekend for me so I need to get a few remaining parts and PM's caught up.
