Got Water in my intake!!! HELP!!!!

I'm a bartender and I have a regular customer who is a mobile mechanic so I called him and he came right over. He fixed it. I don't know how, well acutually I do i just couldn't watch because I was working inside but the muther %#@*er fixed it!!! 55 dollars for the visit and I'm onthe road. he did suggest and oil change ASAP though. Thanks to all that helped!

Yeah, we're all curious... the water must have been at LEAST a foot deep if THAT much water sucked in the CAI (don't think your car is lowered from the pics). Remember that the cone filter needs to be partially submerged (if not all) in order for water to go up the pipes.

I think less than a foot would do it for me. My AEM w/ apexi filter even bumps out the bottom of the fender panel or whatever you call that sheet of plastic. I can't drive it up on ramps with it like this because it will damage the filter. Time to go back to SRI.

this is tru didnt really think about that, but if you go through water fast it actually parts the water. ok not super fast not hydroplane but i hate these motherfuckers that go 3 mph through a puddle i got like 20 and i have injen intake never had a problem

Sup fellas, I'm fairly new to the board. But anyways when I had my neon I had the aem cold air on it and sucked a ton of water in to the cylinders and broke 2 rods. My car was not even submersed I don't know how so much water got in there it just seems to happen. Good luck man.

like what was said earlier, you should invest in a Bypass Valve, i lived in florida and i went through alot of bad storms and puddles and it really saved me and gave me peace of mind.

weird... he had a problem and apparently his engine had hydralocked.. but its fixed now. no explanation on how got so much water into his intake... but ok...... very well then. glad its fixed

Ok OK for all that want to know I climbed in the passanger door and it was only a few inches deep. On the other side where the filter was it was alot deeper. And when i pulled out it got real deep like to the bottom of my doors. Plus those are old pics and it is lowered Eibach drop spings. Mark my mechanic basically told me he took out the plugs, took off my CAI and blew air through it and then started it to push out all the water. Next he replaced the plugs and tried to fire it up. It wouldn't turn over so we disconnected the negative cable to disconect the computer so it would reset. Then she fired up. It took a few times but she finally stayed in idle. I let her run for about an hour then shut her off. All ok so far. Getting an oil change today and we'll see. Due to this tragedy I plan to overhaul the motor. I would like to pull it apart and upgrade part to enhance its performance and suggestions please comment. Thanks again.

He is a mobile mechanic. His reponding fee is 55 and then 75 an hour labor , with a 1 hour minimum. It took him like an hour + or - to do everything including changing out the battery. Everyone's gotta make a living and he just charged me the 55 for coming out. If I went to a shop plus a tow fee I would have been ***** probably! Plus he comes in to the bar about twice a week and he always tips me good so it is Ok.

If you don't have a modified intake, it should be fine. BUT still, driving thru deep water is dangerous because your whole car can be swept away by moving water. Be safe rather than sorry.
