i know how you feel.....same thing happened to me....just come down......all you have to do is alow the filter to dry out......just simply turn the car on and let it sit at an idel for about 10 mins......do not rev the enigine......

after that you should be ok to go.......you just have to let the filter dry......if you threw a CEl....just simply unhook ur neg. batterey terminal cable....let it sit for bout 5 min and re attatch it (you will have to reset all electronics after)

you should be ok after words....

Some pics

Here are some pics of my car.

I pulled the intake off and the water went all the way into the valve at the end of the tube into the motor.

through the filter up the piping through the throttle valve into the back part of the motor where the intake tube conects and I don't know how much further I can't see in any further

Have you turned the motor over...by hand preferably...If you got water in it you might have done some serious damage. You can take all of your plugs out and crank it over...should get meost of the water out if it made it in the motor...then reinstall and see what happens...I dunno though...It might be hurt good.

^^^ in what position were u in to get so much water in there......

Yeah, we're all curious... the water must have been at LEAST a foot deep if THAT much water sucked in the CAI (don't think your car is lowered from the pics). Remember that the cone filter needs to be partially submerged (if not all) in order for water to go up the pipes.

where in austin were you? I know we have had a bunch of rain but I didn't think there was enough to cause that to happen.

Fixed!!!!!!

I'm a bartender and I have a regular customer who is a mobile mechanic so I called him and he came right over. He fixed it. I don't know how, well acutually I do i just couldn't watch because I was working inside but the muther %#@*er fixed it!!! 55 dollars for the visit and I'm onthe road. he did suggest and oil change ASAP though. Thanks to all that helped!
