Got Swirls?

The original pads or the P2 pads? (P2 pads have the fancy edging)
And you got the 6" Excel backing plate you said?

just the regular pads and i think the backing plate might have been 7" honestly i don't even remember lol

I just want swirl marks gone damnit lol haha

Excel doesn't carry a 7" backing plate. There's a 5" and 6" flexible urethane backing plate. The original Propel pads work best with the 5" backing plate and the P2 pads work well with either plate.

aww man im gunna have 2 call them tomorrow morning and find out what i ordered lol so i can change it b4 they ship lol

I would recommend that you get some SSR2.5, a green P2 pad, a yellow P2 pad, and a 6" backing plate.
Of course I'd recommend that you also pick up some MF towels, but if you're confident that your Zymol MF towels are high quality, you can stick with those. I have 45 of the blue and yellow Supremes and couldn't be happier with them.

Didn't you get an email confirmation showing your order?

Hey Mr Detailer ... check out this link - it gives you lots of props from me and others and a few curses for getting us all addicted to the Porter Cable!

Again let me say thanks. This was the thread that made me realize that my finish wasn't nearly as good as it could be.

Out of curiosity, do you prefer applying polish, then wax or wax, then polish?

That's the right polisher, yes. It does come with a backing plate, which is a non-flexible 6" backing plate. The Propel backing plates are flexible urethane, and are thin. Thicker backing plates pose more risk of contacting the surface while polishing curved areas of the car. I would still buy the 6" backing plate, but the factory one will work if you don't want to buy another one.

Yes. I'd recommend you get these two:
http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=exceldetail&ct=ALL&pd=273398&recview=131
http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=exceldetail&ct=ALL&pd=273401&recview=131
Use the orange pad first with SSR2.5, and then follow up with either green + SSR2, or green + SSR2.5.

Are you getting the Poorboy's wax (Nattys) or are you just referring to SSR2/2.5? Those are polishes, not waxes. Those two polishes are usually adequate for the average car. I haven't seen pictures of the swirls on your car, but I hope they aren't bad enough to justify SSR3.

and then the microfiber towels that u just posed the link 2 please help me and correct me if any of this is wrong

If you're going to order some of the supremes, there is a "7 for 6" deal and "12 for 10" deal, so check those out before ordering a bunch of them individually.

I called Patrick's attention to this thread, so if you have any specific questions, he can help you.

FYI, I believe I've only used SSR3 twice. This is one of the vehicles that absolutely required it.

Is it worth buying the Excel 6" backing or is the Propel one fine?

Yes your right on this sorry i meant polish i am going to use P21S Carnuba Wax because i really like it. Unless you think the Nattys is much better?

I love that color, and yours looks exceptionally nice. (2thumbs)

Polish by definition is a product that is abrasive, one that is meant to correct imperfections in the surface. Using a true polish after waxing would remove the wax, so that wouldn't make any sense. Polish before wax.

Mr. Detail, does Excel Detailing offer discounts for Detail City or Autopia members?

Thanks,

To my knowledge, there is no discount available, but he sends you a refund of any money that you were charged for shipping if the actual cost was lower. That is somewhat of a discount in itself, because most places charge you twice as much as it actually costs to ship your package.
