Got Swirls?

Close up of the metallic flake.

altspace, this was accomplished with a PC and Poorboy's SSR2.5, then SSR2.0 or the like? Even the deeper scratches?

Mr. Detailer...What if i have light swirl marks. Would you reccomend still to use a buffer? Wouldn't the buffer end up making swirls?

Can you also give me the price and link to each item? Is there anything else you would reccomend?

I am also having trouble cleaning my windshield inside any reccomendation also something to clean the dash, steering wheel and other stuff inside.

Thanks much

Polishers of any type will only end up causing swirls if used improperly. If you only have light swirls, I'd still recommend using a PC with a light polish, because swirl removal by hand is a frustrating (and slow) task.

Price and link to each item - which items in particular?

I didn't use any glass cleaners all last season. I just use a pair of microfiber towels...one damp, one dry. Wipe the glass with the damp MF towel and then follow up with the dry one, BEFORE the water can dry on the glass.
What are you trying to clean off of the dash and steering wheel? Just dust? If so, a damp MF towel works great for that too. Then apply a protectant to the plastic/vinyl components every 3-4 weeks.

A price and link to the items you used to make that car look like it had a new paint job or it just rolled out of a dealership.

The dash and steering wheel have dust and dirt, when i play basketball or something my hands get all dirty and sometimes sweaty so I want to see if there is some kind of spray to use or wipe to clean off all the dirt and also keep it protected.

The inside of the windshield is the problem area so i need something I have tried Micro fiber towels but i haven't been succesful. What do you use to dry the car off when your done washing it? Also i need a clay bar reccomendation.

I use these towels to dry my car. One towel is usually enough to dry a whole vehicle without wringing it out once or leaving any streaks. I still like to use two though, because of the way I am about my car's appearance. :)

One of the most important supplies is your choice of towel for wiping off polish, wax, etc... If you use a cheap towel, you could very well scratch the paint with the towel, making swirl removal useless. Why remove swirls if you're going to put more in when you wipe the polish residue off? I use these MF towels exclusively on paint/glass:

Detailing clay depends somewhat on the car you're dealing with at the time. More severe contamination requires a more aggressive clay. For *MY* car, I just use Sonus Ultra-Fine clay, which is terrific for light contamination. For other cars, I either use Mothers clay or the Sonus block clay.

In the past, I was able to buy 3 bars of the Mothers clay separate from the kit for $22 from another retailer, but they have since discontinued that item. :(

For cleaning dirt from interior plastics/vinyl, I usually use a diluted mix of either 303 Aerospace Cleaner 10:1, or Poorboy's APC 15:1. Spray a MF towel or MF applicator with the product, and then wipe on. Wipe off with a cheaper MF towel, NOT the ones for use on paint.

Those won't keep it protected, but I follow up with one of 3 things:
Sonus Total Eclipse http://www.autopia-carcare.com/son-700.html
303 Aerospace Protectant http://www.autopia-carcare.com/303-30340.html
Poorboy's Natural Look http://www.autogeek.net/pbnl16.html

I've been able to clean pretty heavy grime off of windshields with just a mist of water and a couple MF towels. Using too much water would actually decrease the effectiveness of the MF towel for cleaning, so keep that in mind. You could go to the store and pick up a can of Stoner Invisible Glass to help. I've never used it, but many people I've talked to love that product.

Just now? Which products did you order and from where?

First of all, the PB's SSR polishes step up in aggressiveness in a different order than the Sonus ones. SSR3 is the most aggressive Poorboy's polish, while SFX3 is the gentlest Sonus polish. I have heard complaints about the SFX polishes having a tendency to gum up the pad, and also that one of them smells like cat piss. SSR2.5 is by far the polish I use most, and it smells like bubble gum. :)
