Got me a FC

i've got 3mm spacers just so I have options. IMO 40 offset is too low for these cars. the wheels that came on mine were 40, and they threw the alignment out pretty bad. Somewhere I read that you HAD to run a spacer to get em on the hub, but always suspected that was BS..

what offset were your 225's in the rear? thats basically all i'm worried about.

FD 50, MSP 55. the mz3's i'm running now are 52.5. my stock size tires rubbed on 40 offset (left side) 205/50's (right side, yes original owner was a moron) didn't, if I had a lot of weight in it, so i'll bet yours were 42.. I think I should be just about set with a 225 on a 47 offset.. here's hoping I'm right! lol I'm refinishing the wheels, so I'm really excited for spring. lol

ya i think you will be golden, if 245 where going to be too much of pain in the ass to make fit for the rear i was just going to run 225 as well, but keep the 245s up front, but that setup is for AutoX not dd

Just remember there is a hub bore difference between the FC and FD. Rishie at AutoRnD occasionally gets in the some spacer/hub adaptors that are perfect for putting FD wheels on the FC.

I keep reading this... are the hub bores on the FD actually smaller?! I haven't test fitted yet.

lol no not really, winter set in and im moving to fl today.

So it might get sold or brought down to FL with me, not sure yet.

well it looks like there will be some updates coming up

The car is getting picked up tom. and will be making its way down to FL.

My new roommate is a HUGE rotary guy and knows lots of tricks to build up my FC.

He finished up a right hand drive conversion on one of the FC's he owns.

Cant wait to drive proper wheel drive again.

i completely missed this. the FD bores still fit the FC, but they look funny on front without a lot of spacing. as for being smaller, they couldn't be that much smaller if they are.

The car is in Orlando now

I took the thermostat out and it was still getting hot.

Im going to be doing a flush and check the water pump.

The big plans are going to be a NA build with about 200whp

My roommate made me fall in love with bridge porting.

If you're going to bridgeport, ditch the 6-port N/A motor and try to find a 4-port turbo motor w/o turbo stuff - they're better for bridgeporting. Just make sure you build everything else correctly or you won't be able to use that power (intake manifold, exhaust manifold, etc.). Be prepared for no power whatsoever below 5500 RPM and expect peak power to be 8000+ RPM.

I'm toying with this idea myself - 4-port turbo motor w/o turbo stuff with a mild bridgeport, ITB's, full 3" race exhaust and standalone. Should be good for 250+ whp but driveability is going to be questionable at best.

If not, I'll go with a large streetport on the 6-port, some Pineapple Racing inserts, simple intake, exhaust and an Rtek 2.0 ECU. Should be good for ~200 whp and maintain good driveability.

i was at a rotary dyno day today and there was guy running the racing beat true dual exhaust, Holley carb, bridge port and maybe something else but nothing huge. but it was a 12a making 172whp.

My roommate knows TONS about rotaries so he is helping me out alot.

We are on the fence with semi peripheral, mainly cause we dont think it will be street able

also we have a lil trick up our sleaves with an intake setup for the car.

Once we get it done ill post up some pics of it.

but im trying to do a budget build for now, i might get into ITBs down the road. For now im going to do atleast a bridgeport and PnP everything.

ill def. look into using those plates though

If you're doing a bridgeport stay away from the true duals. In fact, stay away from just about anything PnP (Rotaryshack has a great max power header but it's $$$ and their customer service sucks). The best exhaust for a bridgeport is a 3"+ with the shortest possible primaries for top-end power. Whatever you do for an intake, be sure to ditch the stock manifolds if you're going with a bridgeport or anything bigger because they simply will not flow enough air. All these stock and PnP parts are designed for a factory setup and won't do squat for a bridge/peripheral port. A carbed 12A is a very different beast than a EFI 13B. If your roommate is telling you otherwise, he doesn't know as much about rotaries as he's letting you think.

Not trying to be a jerk - this information is all over the place on RX7Club and RCC. Just trying to help out as well.

im going to be swapping over to the TII intake mani for now, a lil better then the NA S4 intake mani.

but my roommate def. knows what he is talking about.

I also picked up his old chassis today too.

91 rolling chassis.

TII Brakes
TII Hood
Tien Springs
Walboro 255lph

And NO RUST

My chassis is just too far gone and so rusted out, plus its a base 4 lug model so this will be a big upgrade for me.
