Got 20's Yesterday.

i dont see why anyone is making a big stink about the 20s. imean its no worse than the stupid kids puttin 17/18s on their proteges with stock suspension and rotors. they both look 4x4. (dark)

The big stink isn't just about them being 20's but them being 20's on a scc. 20's on a 6 adversely affects the handeling of the car depending on the engine type. I'll leave that for another discussion i the 6 section. when you put rims on the car that are larger diamater than stock the gearing in the transmittion is also affected. the gearign difrence and weight added= increased braking distance than stock and slower acceleration. cars that have 20's stock are designed to that car by the manuafacturer. I'm not saying that you will die 99% quicker by drivng on them by doing it, but that you may throw off the speedo and odometer by putting the wrong wheels on. If the speedo is off then you may think you are doing 50 but actualy be doing 65. I know people with suvs who killed the power steering from chrome rims. If the original poster feels the rims are safe(especialy since he paid big money for them) then there is nothing in this post that will convince him they are bad till he drives a stock 3 and then his wifes car back to back. He asked for an oppinion from us and he got this thread! I applaud him for even still being here thats heart!

adding weight huh? what about the people that add custom sound systems into their cars. i dont see anyone bitching at them for having some heavy s*** in their trunks. really who cares if its a scc or a 4wheeler or a moped. i mean just say damn that s*** is ugly and be done with it. i just dont get alot of people here.(shrug) hey they are not 17 volks so they must suck. i dont think nobody said men they are not 17, i just dont like them, i dont think they are safe, and i dont like the size for me they are too big but like i said if he likes it and his wife does then who cares thats all it matters but my opinion is hell no they are ugly, but something that i do agree with you is that i dunno why it got so long the thread i mean is like 13 pages well i guess everybody is just talking trash.

not to mention how changing the diameter will also effect the safety equipment such as ABS and EBFD. The power steering in these cars is not made to handle the weight of 20" rims. The suspension is not made for it, basically, nothing is made for it.

Jazmine3, you should not get offended about the people who hate your new rims, it's more of a safety issue ( a big one), you are playing with fire. Bad accidents can happen at low speeds as well. If you love your wife and really cae about her, keep the car as safe as possible.

Tell me why you would put black racing rims on a 4 door car. It is a family car not a coupe. And its not fast. (yupnope)

Here is my friends car. Its a four door family car with black racing rims rims. Oh Well I guess it defeats the point because they are 20"s too.

The E55 can handle it, the 3 cant and the rims on that E55 are lightweight since they are racing rims.
