Damn these look like crap. Ignore the tops of them because i have washed my engine bay many-a-time and so water has gotten in the top, bringing dirt, oil, etc with it..

but DAMn the bottoms.

the car seems to idle better (old ones gapped at .35 these new ones at .30), but the problem im having at high speeds right before boost is still present in full effect.

hmm....

from approx 5 Hg to 1 Hg at around 80+ mph, the car seems to misfire and you can hear the car backfiring out the ******* wazoo out the back. it also hits you, not as bad as a govn or fuel cut, but similar in nature. if i go to like 10 Hg or 0psi+ of boost, the problem goes away.

they look straight BLACK as hell in person...i didnt think they were supposed to be SO black...first time i really changed my plugs...the first time was only at like 5k miles on a N/A setup...

whats your wideband reading at this point, and is this only at WOT or varied postions?

edit: balcks a hell of a lot better than white, your probably just running way to rich at that point or something

yea they look fine, one of the only parts on your car that SHOULD be charred lol

no this is just cruising at like 5-8ish vacuum to 1ish vacuum..gauge reads "---" because the ECU is dumping fuel due to a nearly non-existant first o2 sensor :(

yea at least they arent white like emode said. so would you say judging by the plugs that i havent been knocking etc...would they real bad if i had been affecting my car by boostin at like 13.5afr (testing and troubleshooting this clamp) at 6.5psi?

so i would think thats your problem if its so damn rich the wb cant even read it, your just drownwing the spark in fuel, losing power, and backfiring as a result.

yea, white/yellow plugs are no fun at all. be happy you're on the rich side of the spectrum :)

edit- like emode said, the richness is what's causing the backfiring

i know richness causes the backfiring but this is like MISfiring. and if thats the case why doesnt it do it at like 20 vacuum? same situation, cruising, 80+mph, "---", yet no problems.

that's really strange that it'd back fire only under those vaccum conditions at 80mph...

maybe the RRFPR is "anticipating" boost and dumping too much fuel. i'm not familiar with the adjustments on the begi unit though as far as "tuning" the delivery. try bumping it down just a bit in hopes of leaning out that area just enough, while still keeping the fuel supply up to par with the demands of boost. is this in 5th gear?

maybe you should get a new front o2. Usually when theres a problem, the best place to start is at the broken stuff.;)
