I recently emailed precision designs again about the billet grill that was on the yellow P5 named SLMD P5. They said they finally have them and he gave me the part number and web site to order them through. Here is his email.

Hi Ben,
We are now currently making the upper and lower grilles for the Mazda Protege. The part number for the upper is 808460 and the lower is 808470. You can order these through streetpros.com via the internet. Your cost should be somewhere between 120.00 & 130.00 for each piece.

Thank You,

John Morin
General Manager

Maybe with a group buy we can get this price down.

i would be very interested in these grille i think they would be bad ass looking on our cars. anybody else think so?

I dont see anything for The 2001 Protege on either of these websites??? Am I missing something?:(

I don't think they are selling them yet. I'd give them a few more weeks. If you go to the streetpros.com site and search with the product number, it says "this site coming soon".

See, that's what I'm talking about. Those look really clean. How much would a set of those cost, MP3chick?

RE: cost

I'm sure most of you are well aware of the fact that most of what we are charged for car service and products are labor costs. It sucks but for the most part you are paying a s*** load of money for a part that cost very little.
The mesh grill I have cost $30 for material, however it took awhile for my boyfriend to make it. It gets difficult bending and shaping the metal, not to mention all the prep work that has to be done to the factory grill piece.

This is the way to go if you are crafty with your hands. You pay very little and have something that is unique from all others you see.

So basically this upper and lower grill cost me nothing but $30...oh and some very greatful paybacks to my boyfriend...;)
