i like that idea, where others can come to the meet, not to show, but to attend.... the primary bent of the meet needs to stay focused on Proteges.. this isn't just an opportunity for a casual meet in the Mazda HQ parking lot. the potential for advertisement, sponsorships, magazine coverage is unprecedented. The larger California/LA Dealerships would break a leg to be represented. the "neglected" aftermarket that we constantly complain about will be put in plain view. imagine if Corksport showed, or A-spec drove the V6 KLZE 1st Gen Protege down.
You also may not realize it, but if Mazda's agreeing to sponsor a meet on thier grounds, you have to ask yourself... what's in it for Mazda? well..... they get to see what we've done to thier cars.. how we've altered thier designs.. they get to feel the pulse of our community.... this breeds the innovation and design changes the corporation craves.... to design something that makes you want to dig in your pocketbook and buy thier next car.
it's just a thought, i'm not ragging on anyone, or saying anything negative, but i think that the potentials of this kind of meet should be CLOSELY monitored, and we should JUICE the opportunity for every single drop of exposure we can get out of it.
exposure=fans=fans bring money=vendors show up =larger aftermarket..
i know it's common sense, but i'm playing captain obvoius here while we put this thing together.
