Good News for MOCC

I agree. The event should be protege/3 focused but other folks can come if they want too. Just like the guys on this forum who have Miata's/7s and come to meets etc...

Just like sevenstock, focused for the 7 but everyone else is welcome to come and hang if they want.

Well, let's say it's for Proteges, but secretly we can let in other mazdas, OK? :) Kind of like how a bunch of protege owners went to sevenstock.

Have the name include Proto something like SpicyMSP said.
dont get me wrong, your friends with other Mazdas are more then welcome to come to the event. Just not to show the cars. Mazda Agreed to this on the terms of it being a "protege exclusive" event. Which means the only cars that are to be shown are Protege's.

i like that idea, where others can come to the meet, not to show, but to attend.... the primary bent of the meet needs to stay focused on Proteges.. this isn't just an opportunity for a casual meet in the Mazda HQ parking lot. the potential for advertisement, sponsorships, magazine coverage is unprecedented. The larger California/LA Dealerships would break a leg to be represented. the "neglected" aftermarket that we constantly complain about will be put in plain view. imagine if Corksport showed, or A-spec drove the V6 KLZE 1st Gen Protege down.

You also may not realize it, but if Mazda's agreeing to sponsor a meet on thier grounds, you have to ask yourself... what's in it for Mazda? well..... they get to see what we've done to thier cars.. how we've altered thier designs.. they get to feel the pulse of our community.... this breeds the innovation and design changes the corporation craves.... to design something that makes you want to dig in your pocketbook and buy thier next car.

it's just a thought, i'm not ragging on anyone, or saying anything negative, but i think that the potentials of this kind of meet should be CLOSELY monitored, and we should JUICE the opportunity for every single drop of exposure we can get out of it.

exposure=fans=fans bring money=vendors show up =larger aftermarket..
i know it's common sense, but i'm playing captain obvoius here while we put this thing together.

I like the idea of just Proteges, even though we are at the bottom, if we invite everyone else, it is for sure they will outnumber us and they will once again get all the recognition. Especially with all the new Rx8's and sh*t. I think if we use Proto it would be taking other companies name(Protosport/Protomotive). How about 1st annual National Protege Showoff. Or Protegefest is pretty good too.

 Damn these are kind words. You guys just cant live without keeping this childish crap going? I just feel the love.

Anyways, good luck with the meet. If you need any info on how to set things up let me know.

I agree 100% with you Ghost.
Let the fight fade away.

that's really disappointing.. 7's and miatas, etc, have thier own sanctioned events all the time.... it's time for the protege to make it's OWN mark on a national meet... there's plenty of people on this board alone, we don't need any help...

You can keep it a Protege advertised event but no need to exclude. Our meet yestureday drew in several RX-7's a miata even an S2000. The car will make dice mark even withthe others around.

I would think adding other cars would help get the proteges some exposure if you guys make a real strong showing.

Protofest, and ProtegeFest are my favorites so far. So far we have determined, it will be a Protege event. Others are more then welcome to come, just not show the cars.. yet. It will be a national event, not just MOCC. Although MOCC will sponsor it. What do others think of the two names Protofest? and Protegefest?

I would like ProtegeFest better. ProtoFest sounds like it could be almost anything

ProktoberFest

wait that sound like a convention of proctologists lol

edit: should be 'k' instead of 'c' :D
