Good headers ?

Okay so i want to get into performance parts and I'm trying to stay away from low quality parts. First thing i was thinking of doing was buying headers and a cold air intake for my protege5 but thing is I don't know what are good headers. I was looking into OBX headers but a friend said there not that good. So what is a good decent brand for a good price ? And something that will be a perfect fit when you install them . Sorry for the long post any feedback will help thanks.

There really isn't that much available from what I've seen. OBX has a 4-2-1 header I believe and most of the other ones are 4-1. I have a $60 eBay special that I wrapped and it looks quite good/ frees up a lot of space in the engine bay. It did virtually nothing to the sound of the car though which was disappointing. It was mostly done becaise my pre-catalytic converter was no longer working. $60 for header vs $900 for catalytic converter was an easy choice for my bank account.

Unfortunately the EGR tube did not line up so it was capped. Remember to if you go to a header make sure to perform the double stacked spark plug defouler trick to not throw a catalyst efficiency code.

900$ was the cost +10% price directly from Mazda. Aftermarket is probably more like $400 for a low quality one.

Wagner made a "shorty" header that kept the precat. I sold my P5 with it still on there, but I'll bet SOMEone out there still has one.

yeah, that wagner header was a nice piece.

i liked my Ractive header, but they were hard to get even when they were in production.
