Viper and Clifford are the best and most used on the market. Depending on options and features the price for both will be between $100 - $800+. Most will run around $200-$300. You can find them at most reputable CUSTOM stereo shops, not like Circuit City or Best Buy, CUSTOM shops that carry Rockford Fosgate, Soundstream, and stuff. Check on-line for shops in your area that carry these. These two alarms are the best in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Robert just do a web search for VIPER ALARM and CLIFFORD ALARM you will get about 10000+ sites. Add your City to narrow it down. C-YA

Actually, Concept series Cliffords are second in line. Back when Clifford was it's own company, it allowed dealers to carry certain lines based on criteria. The top level shops carried the Intelliguard series, the next step down is the Concept series, and then the mass merchants like Circuit City or those had their own stuff, like Cyber and Arrow. If you find a Clifford Intelliguard dealer who actually promotes the product, that's your best bet. HOWEVER, there are many Clifford dealers who:
A) Aquired Clifford product through the merger with DEI (viper & such) OR
B) Don't like Clifford because they're harder to install.
Avoid these like the plague.
I have no vested interest in Clifford, DEI or any alarm manufacturer, and won't make a dime unless you drive to SEATTLE and buy from my shop. So take this for real, Clifford is an excellent product, and in the hands of a specialist, will definitely do you right.

Just a test here, anyone seen the movie "No Man's Land"? guess why I'm asking.

I was thinking of getting Crimestopper Superpage II. What do you guys think of it.

i installed a viper 550esp alarm/remote start in mine. i also work in a company that is dominant in security installation and all we will deal with is viper. IMO its the best, check it out. if you do not want to go witht the r/s them you are looking for a viper 300esp or 500esp. either one should suit your needs nicely. also pricewise on the 300...we install with keyless entry for $299.99

MP3boy, stay away from Crimestopper. Same DIY crap they sell in Crutchfield. I don't get excited easily, but the thought of someone relying on junk to protect their car and give them peace of mind kills me. I know too many thieves and have seen so many stripped cars, people in my area just know to come to me for the best protection, and I only use Viper or Clifford, and Viper only if there's a REAL money shortage.
Hey Greer, is your 550ESP in an MP3? The manual tranny on the 2.0l DOES have a neutral trigger wire on it allowing safe installation of a remote start (it won't allow it to start if it's in gear).

Thanks for the info sttl013 i'm thinking of getting the viper 550 because I want the remote car starter and a alarm. I just went to a car audio place yesterday and they recommended the viper to me.

I suggest an Alpine becuase unlike DEi products their wire colors aren't as well known. Go to a good shop you can truct and pay them tripple for the alarm install. This extra is so they hide and tape eveything. Hide the siren or air horns in the fender. Use a back up battery siren and make sure the brain is in a wierd ass location. Also don't use a vallet switch, or wire in a non factory switch ande hide it too. I have seen peole actualy hide them in the doors :D . Also you want in car and out of car proximity sensors.
Any Alarm can be good with the right install but even the best alarm won't do s*** with just a striaght up fee. Also use bright blue or yello loom with the alarm wires, basicly these are usualy wrapped around the air bag wires, I don't know which color our cars use yet. This will make a thief second guess what he is a bout to cut.
If all else fails just get an Akita and a gun.

I agree with the Alpine. I have one in my MP3, and I love my alarm.

Sttl, i'm kind of dense when it comes to these things. you're saying the MP3 has a neutral trigger wire that won't allow the car to start at all if it's in gear? Probably the most valuable piece of info for me right now, considering how badly i want to add remote start to my alarm!

thanks.

I dind't mention a nuetral trigger wire, I honestly don't know if we have one.

[QB]I dind't mention a nuetral trigger wire,

I know. STTL013 mentioned something about it. i'd like more information on it if he has it. :D
