Going Turbo, By Summer of 07

I'd say I'm 99% done.. it's a totally functional setup, the only thing missing is I need to find a proper gasket for in between the J and S pipes of the corksport downpipe. I have a stock gasket but it would restrict the flow a bit, I may just take a dremel to it to fix that problem :D

I noticed this too. I can't wait to see some dyno numbers from everyone though. I took mine to a dyno yesterday with the VT car club. I won't say the numbers though until I can scan the sheets and make a new thread. I'll just say that I am impressed (glare) .
 
omg tell us tell us!! my car's setup is nearly identical to yours.. same turbo, manifold, downpipe, midpipe, vtcs removal, fmic, etc.

I know, you actually have a few things I don't - namely the FSZE intake cam and the larger catback (Racing Beat is 2.375" I believe whereas the Magnaflow is 2.25"). You're gonna get a kick out of it though... I need to find a scanner!
 
yes, ill be looking forward to seeing those dyno charts too...im currently lacking a catback and a few of the engine related things that you guys have...i do have the corksport j-pipe though and ebay fmic/piping...

Yeah, I sent an email to Corksport asking if their Power Series Catback bolts up in the stock location. The reason I asked is because their exhaust replaces the midpipe and because I already have a MAM one I don't really want to replace it. Unfortunately I am still awaiting a respose from them. If all else fails I'll just get their entire exhaust and weld in an O2 bung and just use the MAM midpipe (if it still bolts up in the stock location) for inspections. The only big engine things I'm missing are cams and adj cam gears...
 
ahh...that sounds pretty good...i was thinking of either going custom or getting an rb or magnaflow...right now i have the stock one attached to an mam midpipe as well, but its restrictive as hell...

Yeah, I just want something bigger than 2.25" in the rear - more like 2.5" or close to it. I looked at the Megan Racing but I read that a lot of people were having fitment problems and the 4.5" tip kind turned me off of it.
 
so i finaly got the head off the miata and it looked like this. P.S. less than a week!!

yeah the megan racing.. meh it's way loud too.. probably not as bad on a FI car though.

2.5"? the racing beat is 2.375 ID, i.e. 2.5" OD (IIRC).

Yeah, that's what I meant. The Megan is probably the same way. The Corkport is actually the largest I believe at 61mm. I just don't want to have something custom made.

I bet a custom exhaust wouldn't be as expensive as you might think. I'm going to go 3" with a Magnaflow muffler I have picked out. The Megan to me just looks too generic and draws too much attention to itself.

Also, is that your car in your avatar? Holy cow, mine will look a lot like that soon. I just picked up some '03.5 Racing Harts but it looks like yours are '03. At least I know it should look good.(first)

Yeah I might end up doing that when all else fails. And yes, that's my car in my avatar - pre turbo though (not like you could tell anyway). Also, I'm an '02 as well - no side markers for me (first) . I have the '03 Racing Harts so yours should be a little darker. I really like em a lot, I just don't like their weight at over 20 lbs each. When I'm nearly finished with turbo stuff I'm going to go back to some lightweight 16x7's.
