Going forged...

Well, my car has been down for about 4 months and man does that suck...but it's finally going to pay off. I just got forged internals from arlsmazdaspeed and they're going in as soon as I get them. I also have a little surprise w/ the engine bay coming to me and damn it's gonna be nice. I don't know if you all will like it, but lemme just say it clashes a lot but looks pretty cool. Anyways, I'll keep everyone posted on the build as much as I can. Going to OU for the weekend though, so don't expect anything til after then haha.

Pics?!

First off the parts:

Wiseco 8.5:1 forged pistons
K1 Forged Rods
RR Racing F/R motor mount inserts

and now the totally unnecessary parts that I have that aren't in my car...

The fake ass "Mazdaspeed" Oil Catch Can
Greddy FATT

I have had my car apart for WAY too long...and this puppy needs to get back together SOON! Hopefully it will be done by the end of next week. We'll see though :)

More Pics!

Painted parts...the guys at Kisor Performance have really been helping me out with the car. We're painting the calipers a bright(er) orange and some other stuff too (headbang). The tranny, block, starter...it's all getting some much needed touching up. Hopefully my engine bay is going to look dope after all this is finished...I have a feeling it will be though

More of em...

Man...glad I got rid of those butterflies in my intake manifold...those bastids (glare) The VTCS removal is not difficult at all...let me just say that if I can do it...anyone can. The only part I have not done yet (as you all may see) is taking the plate off that holds the diaphragm, popping out the metal insert or whatever the hell it is, and then tapping the hole and plugging it.

not to rain on your parade, but everyone tells me wiseco pistons suck ass

i mean, probably you got them cheap...but after all of the work you gonna put into getting the engine back together, i just pray to god they're worth it!!

the lie about compression ratios...so watch out, ok?

and on the motor mount thing, is betetr having the REAL motor mount instead of the incerts,,,at least for the real, coz if you ever wanna upgrade it, you'll remember my words "IS A b**** TO CHANGE WHILE ENGINE IN PLACE"

Why would they lie about compression ratios though? I'd assume that would get them in more trouble than making a crappy product. Honestly, the inserts are gonna be fine for me too. stiffer than stock and not a lot of cash. I know they're a b**** too (least the rear mount).

I'd pick Wiseco over Arias. Its all who you talk to. Everyone has their favorites.

kinda hard to beat a known name over a unknown name...

but i pick arias over anything any time...

everyone has their favorites

i'd have a hard time picking wiseco over arias. the design and little details on the Arias pistons VS the Wisecos I've sold alone are night and day. if i had to rate the pistons out there, CP and Arias would be the top drawer, Wiseco would be the middle of the pack and JE are the worst. Its car dependent as well. Alot of people out there with domestics swear by JE and Wiseco and vice versa.

Basically they were cheap, what I was looking for, and not stock...I had planned on getting Pauter/Arias combo, but I didn't cos it was about $400 more than what I paid.

ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY engine builder can tell you ARIAS/ATOMIC is one of the best out there right now,one of the heaviest, but strongest, closest in tolerences, and actually sends you pistons within spec, and VERY close to evenly wieghted.

just to show what I am talking about,I balenced a set of WISECO pistons the other day,one was 4 GRAMS LESS THEN THE REST!!!!!

we deal with Nick Arias directly, and use them on $30K plus engines, but would rather use a set of KB utectic pistons over forged WISECO.

I've spoken to different engine builders and they all have their favorites for one reason or another. You can't go wrong with Arias but I know guys that swear by Wiseco... at the end of the day if it suits your needs that's all that matters.

bottom line here anything is better than the stock piston's and rods lol. Im sure you will be able to put down the numbers you want to put down with wiseco its the tranny and lsd that will be crying lol.

how to remove this part
i pull and push but no cant make nothing

pm please or post hre thanks!
