I got this from another forum.
"I too was getting irritated w/ the glove box rattling, and I believe my recent fix for it worked. Or..at least for the time being since I just did it two days ago. So far so good...
Basically, I was applying felt pads to the inside walls of my center console so that when the console lids close, they sit flush against the felt and stop the lids from moving/squeaking when going over bumps.
Anyway, I was using black adhesive felt furniture pads. Since they're so thick, I used a knife and trimmed about half of the felt thickness away and applied to the center console walls where the lid strikes. I had some extra felt pads left, and I figured I'd try to fix the glove box squeak/rattle as well.
I got the felt pads at Lowes. They are like these, but black:
I noticed that when going over bumps, if you press the glove box tight against the dash, the squeaking stops. I applied the black felt furniture pads at the top of the glove box where the rubber feet on the door/lid meet against the dash. See below:
(note: not my actual glove box..just using as an example to show where I placed the felt pads)
If you use the felt pads I used, it's extremely important to use a knife and cut about half of the felt thickness off. Otherwise, the felt pads will be too thick, and your glove box will open when you hit a bump. Also, since the felt pads are fairly large, I cut them to my desired size using scissors. Another thing to note- I kept my glove box locked for 24 hours after applying the felt pads...so that the rubber feet could create an indentation in the felt..again...to avoid the glove box from opening when hitting bumps. I unlocked the glove box yesterday and it's been great since. The end result is that the rubber feet do not have room to move around..thus eliminating the squeaking/rattling."
