No Longer a GI but still: The Most Amazing NE. GA Meet!

Just trying to put out a feeler. Now I know there are Mazdas up here in the North Eastern Georgia region (meaning from Dawsonville-ish to Athens-ish).

Right now I have no idea where it would be held, when, what time, or anything. I was just trying to see about getting some folks out of the woodworks and possibly get some shizzle going up here. I love the Northpoint crowd (and don't tell them this because I like them) but that's one hell of a trek for me now.

I know we have a few like Wingman, Jackelope, and Metallic up more towards these areas but surely there are more. Perhaps a meet somewhere in Buford or Flowery Branch or Winder or something.

That all being said... anyone have ideas... hit me up. I'm all ears. Commerce is good but it's just a 1/4 mile track, nothing special. We did have a meet there and it was mostly just RX-7's, Wingman, and myself.

It's just too bad our bowling alley here (Oasis Bowling Center, where I used to be employed) isn't as cheap as the NP Meets. Dammit. Give me some time. I'll come up with something.

Perhaps the Dragstrip might be the place then. It might be a little further than the proposed Buford but I want to leave this open for some discussion. I'm still trying to scope a good locale out.

I went to Japanese Motor Works today to pick up my exhaust mani, and when I was leaving they were driving in a yellow P5, Clarke County tag, and it had a DG Motorsports hood, painted yellow on the sides going up with the angles on each side of the hood.. who would that be?!

For distance, Dahlonega is an hour from Cornelia, so about an hour and a half to the drag strip. From Athens to Buford is an hour..

Anything works for me, I'm in the middle, Athens is about an hour, Buford is 40 min, and Dahlonega is 45 min.

LOL we'd have to get there early so we can actually go through more than once.. every time I got there around 8 pm it was freakin packed and I usually only got to go through once. But yeah, the strip is in my plans anyway, so that sounds like a (good) plan I'm still trying to think of other places too though.. stuff to do..

Yeah, I've never run my car (past or present) there but I love going. The smell of race fuel, burnt rubber, and smashed egos.

I just wish there was a cheap road course around here. Hell an empty parking lot.

I suppose it's called AutoXing. A real course would be nice though.

Lol the last time I ran my msp my brother was sure he would be me and tree me....I had a .03,.026, and a .014 rt the three times I ran best time of the day was a 14.6 to his 15.2 in a modded svt focus....he was disapointed to say the least

Probably. Hopefully it's a bit more than 100 hp now. We'll know next week.

Yup.. and preferably on a Friday.. every other Friday I would be available to go, so count tomorrow as one of those Fridays, then count every other Friday from tomorrow
