GI-Production number plate's (MP3's)

Maybe add the production number in the "tuned by RB" area, but keep the yellow and MP3 portion. Can you actually do anything with the mazda name or flying "m", or is that a copyright issue?

^it would definitely be a copyright thing, same with the Racing Beat thing. And a resemblance to that actual logo could be as well.

^ is quick:)

I don't think there will be enough room for the numbering in the yellow area.

And I am sure, that the Mazda name is copyrighted and Racing Beat that's why I would not include them in the plate's beside's the cost factor of making something that is exactly like the emblem....

What about using the evil "M" you know, the one where you don't have the complete cirlce around the M. That's not copyrighted by mazda and medieval will be putting that on his billet caps he's making.

Sound's/look's cool but,I am having a hard time seeing where that would fit into the MP3 plate's?

If you mean like in the background in the black like the Mazda logo is, I will not be doing anything like that. I know it would put this thing into a price range that I could not work with.

I have to think about keeping the cost of producing these thing's down that way the price is reasonable for everyone....I know that I wouldn't buy them if they cost $60-$100 buck's (eyeballs) and that is what I have to keep in mind...

Don't get me wrong I can have some really nice stuff made from this guy but,the cost go's up really quick....

it would be nice give us an idea of what you are thinking of making first. draw it up I guess.

I am going to go over this with the guy making them, when I turn in the order's for the MSP GB tomorrow....I will see what we can come up with....

I'll comment when I get home since I can't see the pic from work...looking forward to seeing what it looks like though :)

not bad, the only concern i have really is the yellow being way too pale... (too banana colored)

It is really a brite yellow it just doesn't come out to well in pic's.....I will try to see if I can get a better picture up.

I can talk to the guy to see if he can get it closer to a true yellow if you guy's would like?

Also, would you guy's want the GB to be for 1-2 of these?

I had him make, a rivit-on plastic sample for me since he couldn't make the thicker aluminum rivit-on plate (like the MSP plate's) with the yellow section. But, I didn't think it would hold up to the heat of the engine bay so I scrapped that idea.

I like it...I would mostly just be interested in one though. When you have what the final product will look like please post a picture.

That is very close to what I can have made.

The only thing that I'm thinking of changing, is having him make the Protege lettering a little bolder/bigger....And if you all would like the yellow to be more of a "true yellow" (Think School Bus yellow) that will be changed also...

Not school bus yellow, it needs to be brighter than that. I think "school bus" would be too dull looking. You don't have an MP3 near you to compare huh? Cause you could just base it off of the strut bar. Or go to the parts store and get high temp engine/caliper paint, that's a good yellow. IMO

How do these compare in thickness to the stock MP3 badges? Would these stand up to the elements (can I put them on the outside of the car to replace the stock badges)?

Stick on is definately the way to go with this design.

Maybe do a group buy with discounted prices for the more you order? 1=$12, 2=$20, 3=$25, something like that? Or $15 for first badge, $5 for each add.?

It is a bright yellow it just didn't come out to well in the pic's....It was based off a printed out pic of an MP3 badge and it is pretty damn close in color to that it does not look "pale/dull" in person. And, I don't know anyone that own's an MP3.... Thank's for the idea though!

As fas as, thickness they are fairly thin/flexable. They are made so they can be formed to fit on the lower part of the shifter plate. I really do not know how well they would hold up to the element's. My guess would be for a good while but, seeing as I haven't done it myself I'm not going to tell you that it will hold up for X amount of year's outside....

If a GB come's of this that's how it will be done a set price for one plate and then X amount for each additional plate.... I have no idea how many people want this so, I don't know what that price will be right now but, if the GB is for one plate per person it will for sure be under $20 buck's.... I will set a minimum amount of order's for a GB at X amount of dollar's and then the more plate's that get ordered the lower the price will go:)
