GI: OBX header

OK I have a 03 P5 will these fit and what modifications will need to be made? Think I know the answer but making sure.

it'll fit you'll need a mil eliminator or the non fouler trick to work right

Believe me; Im for performance over show. However, Ive seen this header in the past and the placement of the badge was er . fugly IMO. If the badge was on one pipe, relatively flush and snug I wouldnt mind at all. Does anyone have a definitive answer? I plan on having the header ceramic coated at Jet Hot. I suppose a grinder could solve the issue! (thumb)

I completely understand - I've seen pics of "Forza motorsports" plastered on the header. Ain't pretty. But yes Jet-Hot should be able to grind it off w/o too much of an issue.

As for the dude w/the 03 p5, I have the same thing. What's required - removal of stock exhaust manifold and 1st catalytic converter, and using a "trick" for the second o2 sensor - a nonfouler works best - search for spark plug non-fouler.

All you need is a 1/2 inch drillbit, drill, and perhaps some WD40 or other substance that helps loosen up the o2 sensor. I know for installing mine, we had to also purchase an o2 sensor socket.

It's pretty easy to do. I'm sure Ken or Brian (ZoomThis) wouldn't mind helping you out. My skills are mainly in watching and taking pictures hehe.

well for whats its worth this thread is in the 1.6 tuning forum and there was only 2 out 11 people of the GB stating 2.0ltr.... sorry i thought that was obvious. I'm all for helpin each other out but ur response tangled up what I was asking or maybe i interpretted it wrong.

the header...they're made in US right?
maybe they're short of metal fabricators at the moment, I know over here tradesman are becoming are rare breed & lots of manufacturing companies have ridiculous lead times. Makes u wonder whats goin on at OBX..

Sign me up for when this is a go (03 P5 2.0). I'm still waiting on my Wagner shorty to arrive, but between the time a got in on that group buy and now I've had an epiphany. Unless the Wagner header has gone through the California Air Resource Board for testing and certification guess what? ... Still not legal - at least here in Cali. Even if both cats are retained and it passes a sniff test, no C.A.R.B # - no passy smog inspection.(hand) I'm all for clean air, but I don't believe removing the pre-cat is going to make me a gross polluter. If I'm going to have to replace the stock manifold for a smog test anyway, I might as well have a full length header. I'm not expecting anyone in this thread to have interest in the Wagner header. This said, if anyone knows a member that can use the SS Wagner shorty for their application, I'll sell it for cost and I'll split the shipping just to be fair. PM me for details - it's a good deal. As soon as it arrives I'll pull it out of the box / post pictures / follow the forum rules.
