GI : Big Brake Upgrade

Hey guys, Twilight's away down south for a bit, and I've had had my own car dramas and work committments get in the way the past couple of months too. We both need time off work together to work on refining the prototype for production. It's been tricky getting it all to gell together, so it'd be nice to spend some time on the BBU and finish off some other little things over the holidays.

Cheers,
Gav.

sub...is there any difference for the MSP? besides slotted? I didnt catch what size rotors.

intrested though.
As far as I can tell these utilize 2nd gen Rx7 rotors which are 13" and calipers that are 4 piston.

i'm the only one with this kit - it's my kit. parts are easy to get. rx7 calipers are common and easy to rebuild, the rotors are rotors for a 2001 wrx sti and other wrx's. easy to get.

Ok im sorry since im sure its been talked about but what adapters would we need and what hoses do you use? Does this work good also with the stock MC and prop valve.

i'm using the stock MC and prop valve. all that's required for this kit is a tiny bit of work on the knuckle to accept bolts and new brake lines

DEFINETLY interested. I'm boiling fluid with the MSP brakes. (could it be the whole 280whp thing???) and I'm in great need of some fade resistance. What kind of improvement in fade time area we looking at with these brakes? Any track time on them? how much difference do they make with pedal feel, lockup points, and actual(not theoretical) porportioning? I'll be buying these off of your very very soon, but I think I'll use some different rotors. Is the rest of the kit ready? And could I use just stock RX-7 rotors? I think that might be enough for me, without going with fancy, expensive rotors. Thanks.

Here's how SERIOUS I am about a write up/ building this kit.

I spent my weekend polishing these:

i've been thinking and looking into this project for a while now and the problem here is that there were no 2001 wrx "STI" here in the US. I know that the US spec STI is a 114.3x5 bolt pattern but the rotor size is 326mm.
so from what i gather DBA is the place to get the 295mm slotted 2001 STI rotors.
i believe the center bore is different also (subaru 58mm vs. mazda 55, nut that can easily be fixed with rings).
am i making any sense?

sti rotors, huh? verrry interesting.

not just any STI... J Spec 2001 STI....
I think the 326mm US STI rotors will take a lot of fabrication (and atleast 17" rims ) to work

download their international catolog and take a look at the specs of the US STI vs. J Spec STI vs. 323/protege.

the bolt pattern and offsets etc doesn matter - custom hat.

the rotors the setup uses is the dba 5000 series, part number 5000. page 109 of the australian catalogue for the 5000 series rotors

so what's the situation with the hats?
did you make yours or are you using a pre-made, off the shelf one.
