Getting to 350 AWHP

Ok guys, my goal for my Speed6 is to get to 350 AWHP safely and smartly as it's my Daily Driver, and I want this car to last a long time. I would like to hear from all you guys that are getting this kind of hp and more, on what it takes to get there. My car is stock atm, just flashed to Stage 1 91.
Ordered a Cobb TIP, Injen CAI, AWR Rear Mount, Stage 1 SS w/ bushings, Test Pipe, and a Cobb SRI to swap for the CAI when rain season comes.
Any and all opinons and input are appreciated.

in order to even get close to 350... ur most likely gunna have to get a cobb ap and prolly at 30r if not 35r and mani, dp. etcc....

You're going to need at least a downpipe/turbo back exhaust, and IC upgrade in there as well. You may be able to reflash to a Stage 2 map, but 350awhp is going to be tough without some major cash.

I would imagine it's feasible with a quality downpipe/cat-back (i.e. turbo-back) combo, plus a header, ECU management, intake, TIP, FMIC, a new camshaft setup, and probably new ignition.

The parts and doing the work yourself are going to cost you between $5,500 and $6,000. $30 here, $40 there for odds and ends needed are going to wear on your pocket, too. Good luck.

So what are some of you guys achieving now with your cars, and what mods did it take to get where you're at?

300 can be acheived without a turbo, ignition, fuelpump, or ECU. a DP and Intercooler, added to my mods will get you there real close. a turbo manifold and a K04 rebuild from PG will put the cherry on top.

I'd take a guess and say that I'm around 280-290 at the wheels right now with my mods.

The key is upping the boost via a tuning device, as well as maintaining that boost through the power band. The inlet, BPV, and test pipe are negligible by themselves, and together, may add 5-10hp total.

Anyone with dyno sheets and mods to prove what kind of power we're making?

I've made 255 HP and 260 TQ on a Mustang Dyno with MS CAI, Test Pipe, HKS BOV, and Copp AP stage 2 + MSCAI. This was also before i got my inlet pipe installed. I was getting detonation during a few runs because my intercooler wasnt getting enough airflow to cool down the air. I think with proper cooling it could have made a abit more power. I think 300 AWHP could be an easy target with a DP and upgraded intercooler and a few small add-ons like step colder plugs and what not.

yea lots of people say that u feel the most power out of a DP...and if you looking anywhere near 300.. you should consider getting an AP.

I have the Cobb AP, and will have my other parts from PG in about a week:
Cobb TIP, Test Pipe, Cobb SRI, Injen CAI also and Denzos. So that should be a good start on my quest. Non HP related items are going in tomorrow: Rear mount and Stage 1 SS w/ bushings

thank you BTW for the business

CP, that's a nice starting list right there, I'm sure you made Ken's day with all those parts.

Yes I'm pretty stoked. Took it on your guy's recommendations to buy from Ken and when I got started perusing his site, it was like shopping at christmas. More stuff to buy later this summer too.

Im at 274 whp without a downpipe or tune (on mustang dyno). I don't think 350 is possible without a bigger turbo. Full bolt ons and a tune on stock turbo you are prob looking at around 325ish.

A GT30R would hit the 350 mark easy but the GT35R I would think to be overkill in his situation.
