What he said. I ran the hell out of mine straight out of the dealership. I also drained the oil at 125 miles, and again at 850 miles. I then changed the oil at 2500 miles intervals until I hit 10,000 miles. I then switched to synthetic.

Its important to remember, you dont want to beat the hell out of your driveline from day 1, simply let the engine accelerate and decelerate through the revs very smoothly.

Break it in hard and it will run hard. Ever seen an engine break in on a test Dyno? Right to red line and right to the track. If it breaks Mazda will fix it.

No leave the oil in for about 3000miles. Then switch to a synthetic of your choice. But ya baby it (under 4000rpm), don't travel at a certain rpm for too long for the first few hundred miles. Like if you travel on the highway, switch the speed/gears up. Dont floor it under 3000rpm after you break it in.

He is correct...baby it upto 5000 miles, but gradually increase your speeds too get proper wear for your internal parts. Then about 5000 miles change out your oil because you will still have metal shaving's in the engine from the factory and change over to a quality synthetic oil. Im paticular to AMSOIL over the rest because of how my cars have acted with other compeditive oils.
