It's been awhile since I've posted here, but now I've caught the tuning bug bad again, and now I actually have the $$$ to do something about it.
Anyway, my car is a completley stock 2003.5 MP5 (aside from a MSP Exhaust), and I want to get some new rims and tires.
I'm pretty sure I want to go with the Rota Attacks from AutoRnD.com (link ), 17x7.5, offset: 48, 5x100. From everything I've read, this should work fine, right?
I've been hearing different things about the tires though. Right now, I'm looking at the Falken ZiEx ZE 512s (215/45/17) from edgeracing.com for $73 per tire. Are those numbers right? Should the width be higher/lower? Any thoughts on this would be very helpful, but that looks like such a good deal, it's hard to pass up.
I'll just order my questions numerically to make it simpler for those nice enough to help out:
1) Should the wheel/tire fit ok without rubbing at 48mm offset?
2) I'm considering putting on some Eibach springs a few months from now. Would lowering the car cause a problem with this setup?
3) Since I'd be ordering from seperate sites, I'd need to take the rims/tires to a shop and have them put the tires on the rims. Does anyone know about how much this would be offhand? I plan to install them onto the car myself.
4) Does anybody know of anyone with a P5 that has the attacks installed? I've been looking, but it mostly seems to be the other Rota styles on here.
Any help, opinions, comments, and concerns would be MUCH appreciated! Thanks!
