Getting Beat By Civic Si!??!??!?!??!

oh btw if u hook it up to the mani be very careful the little prongs that stick out of the mani are very weak and break wiht out much force

10 psi at idle? Wtf?

Shift from 1->2 before redline. take a look at a dyno, i think max hp or torque is around 5500 rpm

If you have a vac/boost gauge it should read around 20-22 vac. at idle. If your running WOT (wide open throttle) it should hit full boost well before 3000 RPM's. What brand of boost gauge do you have?

Wow. So much mis-information in this thread it isn't funny. I know everybody means well, but if you do not know what you are talking about...don't.

Yea I just read through it too. ... sad

All I know this dude needs to learn a bit about turbos and some other general info otherwise debugging problems will be a b**** and causing them will be easy.

agreed.

to whom it may concern:
if you continue to go in to threads in which you have no business replying in, you will be dealt with accordingly.

he's talking about me...

disconnected hose to autometer gauge, replaced hose car runs fine. noise that i was having is gone, thanks for the rpm shifting tip, need bost controller, and turbo timer, much others on the way. And for those who have no patience, there are people who know less than you do, and there is nothing wrong with that. I know i dont know that much but i am figuring this out. let that be a lesson to all

may i close this thread to prevent lameness?
WTF is that supposed to mean.

Regarding your first post....
This forum is full of help AND bulls*** and you will always be running into both. He can choose to ignore my useless comment but I believe he has gotten some decent help in this thread and will eventually fix the problem. If forums were all roses then s*** would be lame.... what did you expect out of every single person that commented? Not dogging you t3ase, I just have seen a lot worse s***... I think he is on the right track to solving the problem, hell... he has already learned to stand up for himself; take the good stuff and ignore the stupid comments.

Ok congrats on the car running better. Here is a good vac source for the gauge and other componenets. Get the universal "Y" fitting kit from AutoZone (Purple package in the Vac fittings section). The kit comes with all sizes. The largest size (3/8"?) will fit into the brake booster line and have a vac fitting coming off of it. It will have 2 3/8" sizes with one small size... you will run a small vac hose from this Y fitting to your gauge. These are the two white things you see in the picture. Make sure these are to the left of the check valve in the brake booster line as you see in the picture. They have vac hose at AutoZone too.

yeah thats why i have been doing alot of reading on here and learning more about everything i can i know enough to the point where im not stupid and gonna blow this thing up i have pretty much come to the conclusion that there is a vaccum leak in the hose for the wastegate, i know that my gauge is off after reading others problems, it is reading 10 when idle so there is def. a leak there i am going to replace the hose today and rerun the boost gauge somewhere else, i understand what things are just not what things stand for, ill get this its just gonna take me a bit

Hey, I'm not trying to dog you at all. I am still learning myself, just trying to help you out. Sorry if I sounded harsh, did not mean to.

Vacuum is ten at idle? Definitely replace those vacuum lines. If one has already cracked or started leaking, others may not be far behind. If you are concerned about warranty or your abilities, have your dealership replace the stock hoses with bulk silicone. This should not cost too much.

Again good luck and keep reading.

zzMSP03.5 if u wanna beat him get an exhuast, gettin rid of the cats or replacing both with one high flow cat will help u keep up and beat the SI for sure. imo u might still be a lil faster then the SI but ur bro could be a better driver, but with the exhuast ull beat him. how are u racing him ? from a dig or a roll ? try to race him from a roll goin 30mph 2nd gear,go WOT(wide opend throttle) as soon as you start racing and shift close to redline u should keep up with him for sure .
