Getting a decent deal on a MS3 GT in the South

Knoxville Mazda is were I got mine for $500 under invoice. I only dealt with the internet salesman and only went to the dealer after the deal was done over the phone. I played them against a dealer in Louisville. Go to Edmunds.com and see what invoice is and offer Knoxville $500 under that and be prepared to sign if they meet it. Birmingham is not that far from Knoxville and you could save $1000.

Hey dude, thanks for the tip on Knoxville Mazda. I found out that since I'm active military, I am sales tax exempt on buying a new vehicle in Tennessee (Stationed at Fort Campbell). I just got him down to $23.5k OTD (Real out the door, as in I can hand him a check for $23,500 and drive away with the car and never see that dealer again). Since I'm deployed right now, my parents are going to go up there this weekend and pick it up for me (Mom has Power of Attorney). Basically, I bluffed the dealer saying that I had a dealer closer to home (Birmingham) offering me one at $23k, but with taxes it would be closer to $24k, so if he could make it $23.5K out the door, I'd have my parents drive up and get it this weekend.

I'm set to come back home in less than a month, so I'm pretty excited to finally get this car that I've been drooling over for the past 8 months. I'll have pics up once I get home (cabpatch) Now it's only a matter of time before I get some RX-8 wheels, and a Valentine One so I don't get arrested in it ;)

you can pay full msrp and still be getting one sweet car. let the dealers & salesperson make a little profit. maybe the dealership will still be there if you need them. (excluding modded cars of course!!)

Neil Huffman Mazda in Louisville is adding a $2000 premium to the sticker price of their MS3's. I'm feeling pretty good about paying $17,700 for an 11K mile 2006 MS6.

brand new 2008 BMMS3 $20kOTD..ttl you name it... i'll even show you the sticker...

=p

j/k...lol

25,500 w/ttl and all that other bs...love my car!!

to the guy that paid 600 dollar doc fee, you got ripped, although I believe there shouldn't be doc fees, i paid 60 bux... unless you had to cover multiple ink used to print out your paperwork... i don't know why you got charged that amount...?? unless i'm missing something here?

Any more updates in prices for recent purchases? I am planning on purchasing one within the month. To the Original poster sorry for thread jacking but did not wanted to create a new thread with same topic.

Thanks,

Sunny

pfft. if you talk to a dealership and they are being hardasses...

the current economic times do not bode well for dealerships. they need to move units to get their kick backs, that is how dealerships work. trying to squeeze you for anything above invoice is NOT going to fly, currently. banks are making s*** hard, people are holding onto their cars....dealers are closing. so, if they are seriously pulling this type of s***, then they need to realize how much money they will be making if you walk out of the door and don't come back.

this is not a high volume car, so they should be counting their blessings that you are coming into their spot in these times looking at something like an ms3.

I've been emailing a bunch of different dealers trying to get a decent OTD price on a Mazdaspeed3 GT, but I can't seem to find a dealer around here who wants to play ball. I started off with an offer for invoice+TTL, and the exchange with two of the three dealerships went like this:

Dealer: Sure! We can do invoice no problem. Invoice is $24,000, with an OTD price of $25,500

Me: Yea...I'm pretty sure that invoice is about $1,000 or so less than that

Dealer: Oh no, the invoice price on that car is $24,000

At least the third dealer I dealet with didn't try to screw with me and said that they don't usually discount the MS3, but they could discount it down to $24k, with an OTD price of essentially the same as the other two. I'm in Birmingham, and I've pretty much tried from Birmingham to Atlanta to Nashville with no luck. So, is there anyone in the South East whose been able to ferret out a decent deal on the Speed3?

Did you by any chance try Rick Case or Jim Ellis dealerships? any comments here

What you described is what i am trying to do with three to four dealerships.

Since the economy is "questionable" Jim Ellis is offering me OTD price of 25570 for base GT. But i have this feeling they are still some bargaining to do here.

Thanks,

Sunny

Go through the internet sales dept. After I got a quote through them, a month later I got an email saying they were offering $750 below invoice on '08 models. I got my cosmic blue gt for 22500 + tax and all that bs. I got another email a month later saying they were offering $1000 below invoice on '08s and $750 below on '09s. They did try to screw me on my trade but I called them on it and got black book value.

My OTD was around 24,6xx I believe. Not too bad, they gave me KBB value for my RSX and are now trying to sell it for the new OTD price I paid. They don't support mods, of any kind.

I got a sport model for invoice price from Jeff Sikes mazda in huntsville, but only through an S-plan that I get at work. It's amazing how honestly they talk to you when they know they can't screw you out of a few dollars. He told me that they never sale the ms3's for below msrp. He tried to put me in one that had a bunch of features that I didn't want and he realized I wasn't gonna have it and ordered me one.

Good luck though, you never know what you might run across.

if you're still looking for one, i have one for sale with barely any miles (<4000 miles).
need to get into something bigger.

if you live in GA, you can buy from me without paying sales tax! that's ~$1500 savings right off the bat.
