Get Gas!!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, I'll be driving from Charlotte, NC to Florence, SC saturday, then from Florence, SC to Columbia, SC on Sunday, then From Columbia, SC back to Charlotte, NC on monday.... whatever. I'll stop buying it when I can't afford it anymore.

Don't you just love hype mixed with severly flawed reasoning that quickly turns into solid facts?

It will be on Fox news within the hour. :D

So what? If you, or anyone for that matter, were in his place you'd do the same thing.

Well at least the UAE is one of the "friendlier" nations lol

history's been all about who has everything. might be salt, gold, silver, tea, tobacco, cotton, coal, steel, platinum, plutonium, aluminum, etc.

now it just happens to be oil.

2 peices of good news
1. The government is opening up the researve.
2. The EPA is lifting the pollution regulation for all other refineries so that they can ipen up productions to there physical limitations and not there governmental limits.

That should help out alot.

opening the reserve doesn't help as much as lifting the pollution regulations :D

True, which is why its a good combo.
Now the other refineries greed and help us all out for once. Although it would anyway if the EPA didn;t limit themin the first place as they artificaly limit supply. Fuckers.

nice post. now, remembering the U.S. is about 3 million times larger than those cities and the U.S. as a whole does NOT have a good mass transit system to resort to like all the europeans. The *only* reason Europe is high is because they TAX it to encourage people to use mass transit. In the US, there really isn't a mass transit system that works.

So, to be fair, I would use mass transit, IF IT EXISTED like in those cities that have high gas prices.

So true. Japan's mass transit system is so effective, many people don't even own a car. If only we could pull off something like that.

The US is just TOO BIG for a mass transit system: i mean look at germany, the size of montana.. if we were that small, we'd have a kick ass transportation system too... but its just too big and would require trillions.

yeah, it wouldn't cost much, i mean, good mass transportation is cheap! ;)

It'd be like, one hundred gazillion catillion bajillion dollARZ!!!
::dr evil face::

the quicktrip next to my house ran out of gas about 3hrs ago. my family has cancelled our trip to florida because we decided its not worth about 300$ in gas for one long weekend. earlier today a friend of mines sister saw gas at a station just north of here that was selling gas for $6.20 a gallon. its absolutely rediculous. im pretty sure most of the lines of panicking people showed up because of the media and because they want to buy gas while its "cheap".

edit: also opening the reserves wont help as much as you would think because most of that is crude oil and alot of the refineries that can make it into gasoline are in Louisiana and have had to shut down

Actualy they got knocked over

But, the other 2/3rds of the refineries in this country can crank out a bajesus more then they do typicly as they are limited by the EPA. So they can easily make a serious dent in a lack of a supply. Some are specualting oil may drop to lower prices then it was pre Katrina from the removed restrictions. The problem will be the time it takes to refine and get that gas to the south east and north east.

Good thing all my cars are filled up and I could walk to work if I had too.

.. In the last three days, gas prices have gone from $2.67 for premium to $2.90 as of last night. I have to fill up tomorrow, and I think I might vomit on myself.
