camrycev6 said:I have mine now. They took longer than they said to install it. 1.5 hours versus the quoted 0.8 hours. Cost me $420 installed. Dyno is tomorrow!
peanutsparts said:U could of goten a exhast for that amount!
camrycev6 said:The exhaust was selling for approx. $450 at two different dealers. That is the UNINSTALLED price. So no, I could not have got an exhaust for that much.
Also, and more importantly, the exhaust only gives you about 4-7 more HP depending on what you read. That is a lot of money for such little gain.
Until Mazda makes a down pipe, the pipe from the turbo to the Cat is too small to make a Cat-back advantageous.
peanutsparts said:a exhaust and intake are easy to install. U paid that extar 120 bucks from Mazda just for the ECU reflash, and for them to do a 30-45 install for you.
when you cen just pay 40 bucks more and get th CP-E CAI, with proven dynos for more power.
it matters if u care for the warranty or not.
C'ville said:Could a dealer really prove that a CP-E CAI caused a problem as opposed to a MS CaI?
They are sort of the same thing, I guess I'm trying to say if mazda sells a CAI for this car I think it would be hard for them to prove that another brand caused a problem.
Everyone is going to buy what they think is best for themselves.
Me I like the quality and R&D of the CP-E CAI and thats what Im going with.
dread said:any idea how the cai is affecting your air fuel ratios

camrycev6 said:I do care about the warranty. My car is brand new, so it seems silly to me to possibly void a waranty on a $23,000 car with 2.8 years / 35,400 miles to go, just to save myself $120.
