The only time it will read semi accurate..is a wot (Wide Open Throttle)...From there you can see how rich or lean your car is running..

chas

p.s. they are more for looks than show..But i like it b/c i use nitrous and it helps me to see if my car is running lean while shooting~!

back and forth and back and forth and back and forth..

(still going)

well, you could hang it out your window to get a constant a/f ratio, but it wouldn't be accurate

back and forth and back and forth and back and forth..

(this autometer gauge kicks ass!! it made my car fast and furious!!)

no way to get it to work right. most a/f gauges are narrow band. meaning that if the ratio isn't somewhere in that narrow band, it can't read it. but most of the time, your car is operating in closed loop, meaning the ecu is continually changing the a/f mixture, looking for the best ratio. that's why your gauge just puts on a light show and pegs at rich when in open loop. next time if you're gonna spend money on an a/f gauge, get a wideband.

The best thing to do is ditch the Crappymeter...errr Autometer and get either the GReddy A/F guage or just don't have one at all. People honestly don't need to monitor you Air Fuel Ratio unless you turbo's or have a high tuned NA motor. If the only mods on a person's car is Intake, Exhaust etc... you're fine. I do agree that it's cool to have guages, but if they're non functional it's kinda silly
