hey guys, im thinking about adding a gauge to the car. i have a few gauges sitting at home and im not sure what to toss in first. so i want to hear from you.

Boost
Wideband
water temp
Oil Temp
Volts

Im leaning to the WB, water, or Boost. Boost would be nice because im not sure i fully trust the factory digital boost. Water temp would be great because for some stupid reason mazda didnt include one. And the WB well, because its a WB and its always a good thing to know.

Definitely the Wideband. It should have been the first one i put in next to the boost gauge, maybe i would have saved an engine!

you got some sort of boost gauge already so my vote goes to the WB. boost would be easier to hook up though.

car looks awesome in white btw!

I would place my 3 most important gauges on the pillar then do a custom cluster for everything else in the glovebox, so when you drop open the box everythign is right there.

Any thoughts towards an Exhaust Temp and Trans Temp gauge?

^^^From what I have read the a-pillar is no good as that is where the airbag deploys from.

i dont have an MS3, but in my opinion, a wideband is pointless if you dont have an aftermarket ECU to adjust. on a stock ECU, all it will do is tell you how rich the engine is running.

starting with stock gaues, i would add: (in order of importance)
1- Oil Temp (dont get into boost until oil is up to temp)
2- Oil Pressure (another indicator that oil is up to operating temp)
3- Boost / Vac (can tell you if you might overboost, or have a boost leak)
4- Water Temp (MUCH more useful having a linear water temp gauge since stock is not linear)

anything else would be just for looks.

the 2010 doesnt have any water temp gauge at all.

odd.

then i would revise my list as follows:
1- Oil Temp (dont get into boost until oil is up to temp)
2- Water Temp
3- Oil Pressure (another indicator that oil is up to operating temp)
4- Boost / Vac (can tell you if you might overboost, or have a boost leak)

i agree with the oil pressure is of most importance. but that wasnt in his list. i also dont suggest gauges in the glove. how you gonna see em and drive.
