Before the dealer replaced my burnt, crack prone, stock turbo hoses with bulk hose I was only getting 18-22inches of vaccum but now on the freeway off throttle I see the gauge go to 30 inches and it hovers around 22 at idle.BradC said:When a motor runs the pistons go down and create the vaccuum. All NA cars run in vac. When your turbo spools, it shoves air in "boost".
If you got an MSP I recommend the SW Performance gauges. The faces come in silver, & it's backlit (numbers glow)tracknfield423 said:i think i am going to put my guages in the cd pocket but what guages do you guys suggest i get brand wise and how much am i lookin on spending?
I've replaced most, if not all, reachable hoses with silicon hoses and they are a bit better quality feeling wise than just fuel line. Pay good money for a decent kit (read: HoseTechniques) and don't buy a crappy one. The HT kit is a bit of money for the large one but it's worth it.Rich24km said:dumb question here, but if i get new aftermarket (titanium silver) Vacuum lines will it make any difference in my boost pressure/vacuum? Like make it more efficient or does it matter( just for looks in other words)
Great idea man. It will look awsome. You can get autometer gauges thats what most people do. I heard that Apex is designing a piece to install gauges in that cd pocket. Check out the how-to forum......I just got my triple-pod, oil pressure and vac/boost gauges today, read LinuxRacer's instructions in there, got all the materials he said to get. Well almost all....2 places didn't have 3/16" ID vacuum hoses. The gauge comes with a hose but his instructions upgrade it to a better hose. He's got pics and everything...........props to you Linux!03.5 YellowMSP said:I just recieved my oil pressure gauge, boost gauge, and two pod pillar from www.jegs.com today.
