I am planning on buying some autometer gauges for my MSP. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between the Ultra-Light series and the Phantom serries.

But is that it???

I believe that you are correct but there has got to be more. They cost about the same on most gauges and the only visual difference is the boarder and instead of Ultra-Lite it says Phantom in this cool light silver color.

IS the name true? Is there a weight difference?

nah, no weight difference. no one would bother to make an ultralight gauge. it weights so little to begin with.

Ultralite are silver and the Phantom are white faced. The Ultralite are complete aluminum construction also, the Phantoms are not.

YES, YES,

The Pro-Comp Ultra-lite are lightweight guages!!! The are for race cars where weight is an issue. I have about 8 2-5/16" Ultra-lite guages from Drag Pro Civic I use to have. There was def. a big difference in weight comparied to the phantoms, which at white faced, especially with the larger 2-5/16".

There is also a big price difference with them.
