I agree, it's not Bush, it's the damn oil cartel, OPEC. And in California, we get screwed and pay more because we will. Taxes, and the fact that stations charge more because they can, and there was that whole oxygenated fuel fiasco.

I pay in the mid to high 60's to low 70's cents per litre....it has gone up to almost 80 once, but never higher...it used to be like 42 cents...those were the days...when I wasn't paying for gas, I swear, it worked perfectly gas prices went up a year before I started driving, and have only gotten higher since...damn OPEC, and the gas companies, and the oil companies, and the government, and people, and the world, and everthing else......lol

higher octane won't do anything for you unless you are boosted or run advanced timing. Actually running higher octanes in a car that doesn't need it can hurt performance. It actually takes the ignition system longer to burn the fuel. I'm not talking about 91-93 octane. I'm talking about 96-104 octane....I ran it in my SHO w/ N20 and on the bottle it would FLY, but without it the car seemed to hesitate and sputter.
back on topics....Premium here is $1.69/gallon. Now with my MP3 ecu I run 93 octane. Once I get my new coil packs I'll bump it up to 96 for track use.

I figured out the cost difference and it's only $3/week or so....I'm not so broke I can't afford to properly take car of my car. Now if gas prices hit $3/gallon I'm moving my famil to Georgia.

I'd like to make a prediction: (put this on the record)
Gas prices will climb through the roof untill sept-oct. Then IMMEDIATLY before the elcetion Bush will make some 'huge presidential decree" to lower gas prices back to $1.30/gallon and everyone will be happy. If this exact event doesn't happen that means that Osama will surface and be captured immediatly before the election. It will happen like clockwork. MARK THESE WORDS.
just FYI, there is an underground salt mine in texas that holds the US wartime reserve of oil in the event that we are cut off from the rest of the world. I don't remember the exact number of barrells underground, but if only 10% of these barrells were released to the world market (ONLY 10%!!) the worldwide gas prices would fall below $1/gallon. This was on Discovery a year or so ago. We don't release the oil because it'll crush small countries economies....I think we should just release it into the US and canada. If we do that then gas prices could be back below $0.50/gallon and the economy would BOOM with travel. But leave it to the Bush adminstration to wait and torture everyone to spin it in their favor later on.

it's funny the spin the politicians put on things that are supposed to be good for us.....they drive up the gas prices so they can lower them later and look like heroes. And you non-believers are nuts if you think the Texas- Bush family doesn't have friends in the oil business!!
