Gas? Where to get?

I filled up 1/2 of the tank with 100 and half 91. I was heading to Vegas and thought the desert highway would be a fun playground.

It was, I got to play with (umm RUN OVER) one of those turbo bugs, as well as a G35, and a Roush Mustang.

I even got to the limiter. Topped 150mph!

My BOV came in today, I'll see if I can get it on tomorrow. CAI should be here soon.

Heh... GJ... 147 in my civic = 598 dollar ticket... and months and months and MONTHS of fixing my license... I've topped about 140 in my speed6 so far... racing around on 91 with a G35.. Evo... and one of those 300.. magnum... charger.. somethin

Good times... I'd be scared to s*** tryin to take a picture with 1 hand... and drive with the other at those seeds... then again 147 in civic is near death.... i'm sure the speed6 handles a lot better...

130-140ish is hardly noticable... car is so damn quiet... and weighs enough to push anything outta the way...

Cai

Hi Chris. Did you get the CAI? Let us know how it goes....

Exxon/Mobil (I have personally boycotted this particular corporation)

good to hear.

www.exxposeexxon.com

My input: Buy from a station that isn't ExxonMobil. I buy from BP (British Petroleum) when I'm at home, and when I'm at school since there's no BP up here in NY I get it from Sunoco.

It was just shipped, so I don't expect it until next week.

I got the BOV installed. I had it setup to VTA and drove around for a bit. It was pretty cool, but I'll keep it recirculated.

Oh and that snap ring is soooo much easier to install with the snap-on snap ring wrench that my buddy had.

Why Recirc? I'm running VTA and loving it... haven't noticed any power or boost problems... in fact... almost seems as if it does a bit better as far as boosting goes...

The speed6 is SOOO much better with the HKS bov than my friends evo... He's got the wonderful sputtering sound. and it goes off all the damn time.. so loud... Speed6 only really noticable when racing.... Stop and go traffic.. and every day driving... you'll hardly hear it...

It sounds cool and all, but it's venting metered air. It's making it backfire, and it doesn't feel like its running quite right.

Mine would vent with any moderate to spirited driving, mostly while changing gears.

is it just me or does anyone else get bad milage when they use crown gas? i sorta like BP and citgo. shell tends to be too pricey for me
any one hear of freestate? there's a couple in this area and each one is real big. just you can only use cash to pay, which isn't bad for me cuz thats how i always pay.

I'm doing a little experiment with mileage vs. brand. I'm in NY metro area, so they do put 10% ethanol in the gasoline until, I think, May 1st. First three tanks of gasoline were Sunoco 93. I got 19.5mpg each tankfull, with normal non-spirited break-in driving for the most part. Mix of highway (75-80mph) and local driving. Got the same 19.5 each tank. Weird.

Anyway, I just filled up with BP/Amoco 93, and will do so for the next two, then I'm going to try Shell.

I'll post results on the forum (not in this thread) but I think results might be skewed by the changeover to non-ethanol around May/June.

So the whole "winter blend" thing is just mixing in a little ethanol? Makes sense then that gas mileage is a bit low in winter (along with a few other causes), because I hear that flexfuel cars get 30% less gas mileage when running E85.

When MTBE is banned (I think sometime late this year, right? Maybe not banned but just phased out because gas companies don't want to get sued), I hear they want to replace it with ethanol, so yay we'll get lowered gas mileage all year long.

I have a friend the works in Fuel Economy Engineering and he mentioned me the other day that I should wait at least 4k miles in order to get the real FE. I have noticed a FE increase within the "break-in" period. For some reason BP seems to provide me with a better FE and performance. I may be bias on this since this is the brand that we used in our test vehicles, but I have caught myself driving a little bit more and paying a little extra for a BP. My MS6-GT is giving me 20.6 MPG with a 90% highway (with short excursions above speed limits, forgive me Lord) 10% City.

:( I miss BP, can't wait to get back home for summer.
