Gas Tank...Problem?

So I was filling my almost empty tank today, and about half tank, the pump stopped. So I took it out, and my tank was bubbling and over filling. A bit of gas came out, and it kept bubbling, but slowed down, and finally settled. Then I filled up the rest of my tank.

What just happened? Is it a problem? I've never experienced that before.

might be frozen gasasoline in the vent. happens when you fill right to the top of the gas tank in cold weather, the small amount of gasoline isnt as resistant to freezing as the entire amount in the tank. well this happend on my moms sentra,

seriously though i could be completely wrong lol

Never had this problem but I bet it had something to do with the fuel level and the corn based s*** they put in just about all gas. Either way you now have water in your tank so either get it out or drive very carefully until its empty. Get some type of water displacer and fuel treatment from the auto parts store if you do not siphon it out. Don't let it sit on "E" when its freezing up there.
