Gas mileage: Must be my driving

you'll spend as much as $200/year extra in fuel compared to what the car was advertised

no offence but if $200 is breaking you wallet then you have some money problems.

Saided18, since you so obviously miss the point, I won't try to explain it to you. We'll just go with your position. I DO have a money problem. And since $200 a year is NOT a problem for you, why don't you send me the $200? I guess if a store clerk overcharges you $5 you wouldn't go back when you discover the error because it's only $5. You'd have to have a real money problem to worry about $5. :wtf:

For all you Atlanta drivers, go ahead and buy gas at like QT or the such. I would just stay away from Racetrack! They mix theyre gasolines to get premium fuel grade 91(or 92 i think). It s a mix of like 87 and 93. I used to work in the retail petrol industry and the tanker guys used to always say-stay away from RACETRAK!

Also, aside from this, ALL gasoline in Atlanta comes from the SAME depot stations! The 1st is from BP, N.A. in Norcross and the 2nd is from the Colonial Pipeline Co. in Powder Springs. The BP is made and distributed by of course, BP and almost all gas stations around North Atlanta, including all Amoco's (the few thats left) and BP/bpConnect's use this fuel. On the West side of Atlanta its fungible fuel from the Colonial pipeline company/Ashland Oil Co. in Powder Springs. I prefer the BP fuel but thats just me.

The only difference is that BP fuel is of course-BP. The Colonial Pipeline stuff is called fungible. meaning, its fuel that meets the industry spec for all fuels like diesel, 87,89 and 93 octane. What differentiates the fuel for like QT and Chevron is the amount of detergents (or in Chevron's case their Techron. and they do have a tankl of it at this depot.). But the biggest difference is the fuel that say a Texaco station uses might be Shell, or Phillips 66 or Conoco. Each company sends, or rather sells amounts of fuel to the open market and it goes right into the open market pipeline and is available to everyone for purchase. And, they also keep some fuel in their own system for what's called direct use.

In the end, buy from the cheapest place that you feel comfortable with. And I do know that QT fuel is good and you should never, ever have an issue w/ it-i havent for over 10 years. And if you do, they fix the problem! I also use BP. Chevron is just too expensive for me!
