Domino:

There are some realatively nice apartments on Royal Ln, just West of US75. Miller Rd and Royal Ln are the same street. It's called Royal south of 635, and miller north.

To get there go west on royal lane toward US75.
Cross under US 75 and turn left (south) on the access road
Take the first street to your right

There are several aprtments on this street, some good, some not so good. I used to live in the second gated community on the right called Chase Crossing. When I lived there it was $650 a month for a split level (1bedroom & bathroom on top, living and kitchen downstairs) with around 750 sq ft. I really liked it there, but no washer/dryer connections in your room. There are 2-3 laudry rooms on the property, which is very small, so I never had trouble with waiting for a washer/dryer to open up.

Further down that same street are several condos and duplexes you could look into renting if you wanted.

The drive from this area would be easy, just take royal lane past 635 to Shiloh. Would be about a 10-15 minute drive on the surface streets.

I also lived in another apartment near there that was much nicer, but more expensive.

It's called "Churchill on the Park". It's near the corner of Churchill Way and Coit (About 2 blocks north of Royal Ln).

To get there head north on 75.
2 exits past Royal ln exit is Coit Rd exit.
Exit Coit rd
Go straight 2-3 lights till you get to Curchill Way (If you get to 635 you have gone too far north)
Left on Curchill Way
Curchill On the Park is on your right, just past the 1st stop sign.

It was a beautiful place, best apartment I've been in, but the rent was like $900 a month for a 1 bedroom. We did get the biggest and most expensive layout with the fireplace and 3rd level park view balcony. Other than the rent being high, everything else was near perfect. Brand new buildings and appliances, garden tub and huge walk-in closest, movie theater in the clubhouse you can reserve for free, great workout room and pool areas, decent service and a garage covered space for an extra $15-25 a month. The setting was perfect with parks on 2 sides, and business complexes that are empty after 5pm on the other two. Plus it's 1 minute form either 635 or 75, and has one of the best 1-2 minute driving roads in dallas right behind it (Parkcentral). If the price had been cheaper we would probably still be living there now.

There are also 3-4 other brand new apartments right on that street you should look into.

If you are willing to drive, there are a few other places I would recommend.

There are about 4-5 apartment complexes off both sides of the North Dallas Tollway between Keller Springs and Park, most are by Frankford Rd. Most have garages and are reasonable priced. I've never lived in them, but had friends in two of them and both were nice places.

You should also look up Power Properties.
http://www.powerproperties.com
They take old buildings and fix them up and turn them into condos. There places are KICK ASS with beutifully redecorated rooms and landscaping. They also convert old wharehouses into lofts. If you want a beautiful and cool living space, these are totally beyond comparison to traditional condos and apartments. You woon't find any in Garland, but it may be worth the extra 10 minutes in commute for you.

---

Good luck finding a place and we look forward to seeing you out at the meets.
