Here is a link to how serious they are about making parts for Mazda
http://www.mazdas247.com/forum/showthread.php?t=123768263

P&L Motorsports is going to design a lower tie bar that will work with the AWR oil pan, I dropped my car off last week so they could take the measurements needed. It is going to take a couple weeks before they will be ready to test fit it on my car, after talking to Paul I can say I am pleased that he wants to get into the protege market. What I like the most is he is open to design anything that will have a purpose for the car not just another part. So to get this done I need to show Jorge how many people will buy the new design, well my fellow Protege lovers let's show a new vendor that wants make us new parts how serious we are about are cars and his shop to get new parts made. Please post your fourm on the list to get this done, Paul will be post update as the design comes together.

Hate to tell you, but it won't. I learned the hard way, I had the bar 1st and when I went to put the pan in that's when I found out.

Is that link supposed to show that he is doing this tie bar? Do we have an idea on price? I have the AWR pan and a small cut in the subframe meant that I could fit the Autoexe bar with 1mm or so of clearance (it only works due to the motor mounts I have), but if this was affordable and provided more clearance, then I think I'd be interested as well...

The link is to show how serious they are about getting into the Mazda community.

So, here's just a quick, little update.

I talked at length with my engineers, and this is really the skinny of it.

Can we make a bar to tie the two points together, where you guys are trying to? Sure! Will it actually HELP, in the way you guys are hoping? No. Not really. There will still be sub frame flex along the lateral axis on cornering, which will simply push both control arms to the outside. The idea is to reinforce the control arms to keep them from flexing against the loads put against them.

To REALLY do it, the bar needs to be pinned along multiple points. Which, means its not so much a simple bar, its more of an X beam type affair. Or an H brace (like what we do for Subaru's).

If you want something, to have it... I.E. that will be cheap and bolt up. Sure, that's easy. Want it to REALLY work? Well, you guys now have an idea of what is really involved.
