fwd speed

so i was driving today did a hard take off and shortly after the 4wd light came on and it would only be front wheel drive please help!!

cuz i had tried to take off and see if it would engage but it wouldnt get traction and it felt lk torque steer real bad

You broke the inner CV joint on the left rear axle. Most common driveline failure these days.....

how can you tell it was on the left side? do only the left ones brake?

is it an expensive fix? and how do you know its the left side? jw

The left axle takes the most loads as the torque direction pushes it down, so it fails first. The upper diff mount breaks on the left side as well.

The driveshaft shop sells an upgraded unit. They only list as a pair right now but you should be able to buy them separate. I did a few months ago.

so it was the left rear axle but my warranty company is covering it thank god!!!

Just wondering.. If this breaks does this cause a loud clunking sound from the rear left?

Let's start with the first post.. He said his 4wd light was on. Is yours? It may be your rear diff mount. They are incredibly weak, and come with uber soft bushings.
