No squealing on mine. It sounds very similar to a Yanmar 3 cylinder diesel engine in a John Deere tractor for about a second after startup. After that, it purrs like a kitten and still runs as if it were brand new.
I meant make noise, mine's the only one here that squeals, but yea eventually it gets to that quiet stage but that's something like 30 minutes of driving before it happens.
Got the car back from the service department early. It was the VVT cam actuator according to the paperwork. Covered under the powertrain warranty. All is fine now. As an added bonus, got a free oil change out of the deal; oil is changed twice under the VVT cam actuator TSB.
I'm still trying to figure out if this TSB is detrimental to the engine, IE if you don't have it done is that pin going to shear off and cause some nasty problems?
I'm pretty sure mine has this problem but I don't want to deal with the dealer hassle and loss of my car for at least 2 days because there will be "nothing wrong" the first time I bring it in.
