Fun Run/Detail Party/Winter Prep Meet 10/24/09

Maybe I could hang in a "fastest looking Mazda" race.

Oh then i saw something that would beat us all today. it was an A Team knock off. Dodge E series van with no windows white with the 14" chrome rims, blue racing strips on the bottom and green along the roof with the double decker uber ricer wavy spoiler. I wish i had my camera

I thought the A-Team van was black and red?

Sure... As you wont have a map or know the roads I am sure any veteran would take a run at you. :-) Remember, it isnt always the car with the most HP. None of us are street racers we just like to hang out and have fun. If a race is what you are looking for you probably are not going to want to attend.

Well luckily I have GPS ;)

Chill pops...it was a semi joke. I enjoy fun cruises and hanging out...with a lil fun mixed in when the road conditions permit if someone is up for it ;)

GPS won't help if you don't know where you're going. It will get you home if you get lost, though, so by all means bring it.

Now...

(attention)

Regardless of what the road conditions are, the fun run is just that... a fun run. Unless someone is being WAY too slow, it's a 106-mile long game of follow-the-leader over a long-established route.
It's not a race, it's not a time to be stupid. We've had a number of close calls over the years (with accidents and with cops) but there's never been anything serious and we are going to keep it that way. Period. If you act like an ass on a fun run, you will be asked to leave. If you don't leave, then the fun run is over and everybody goes home (or to Ray's house, in this case) by the shortest route possible.

Read the rules in post #1 and abide by them.
Don't be "that guy".

Yeah seriously. When we are on our way to US-23, it's only going to be like 35* lol.

Maybe, it might not be a bad idea to start considering some back-up plans. Not a whole lot of fun to be had on a rainy 40* day.

true but the tires will be warm by then. im not too worried about it. tomorrows forecast is cloudy with a chance of pm showers, tonights rain should be out of here after 2am. not saying the forecast wont change by then though

We will decide on the run when everyone is there. It looks like it wont be raining in the morning but later that afternoon. Cold doesnt matter, you can turn the heat on in your car. It wont be near freezing so dont worry about your summer tires. By the time we get the 11 miles down N. Territorial your tires will be to temperature. Mike, are you meeting us at Starbucks in Novi or going with Ray?

Ok everyone... Looks like the run is totally on. Rain is already letting up and it isnt supposed to rain again until late tomorrow afternoon if at all... UM is on @3 and State plays @ 7, both games will be on.

Please bring a two way radio if you have one, bring as many as you have. We will be on channel 7. Meeting at 830, drivers meeting and line up at 850 and run departing at 9. We will run the loop and be back at the starting point by noon. We will regroup and head out to the Detail bar bq from there. It is a straight shot up 23 to 14 to Ford Rd. You can get special directions or address at the Fun Run is necesary. We will also be stopping at a Kroger on the way so if you dont want to pick things up tonight and have them in your car for the run you can wait until then.

- Make sure to check your oil, coolant and washer fluid.
- Top off your gas tank, we will be traveling 110 miles roughly.
- Make sure all lights, turn signals and such work!
- Go to the bathroom before the run, you will be driving for 1.5 hours before we stop.

Any problems or running late please call me at 248-568-5415.

See you all tomorrow morning!

Yeah, the end is usually the Shell station at the bottom of the hill, then those who split go their own way, and everyone else heads to the bbq/meet after and follows one another.
