Fueling Problems

Hey

So my car got broken into a couple of months ago, long story short there is nothing on value in my car so they popped the hood and took my air filter, rad cap, oil cap...etc. When I got to my car the fuel door was open and the cap was barely screwed on.

So a few weeks after that I started to have trouble when I was fueling my car. Basically now I am at the point where it takes me up to 20 minutes to fill my car up because the fuel keeps bubbling up and shutting off the pump. I have a bad feeling that who ever broke into my car may have jammed something down the filler neck.

I just had a look and there is no noticeable bulges in the hose leading to my tank.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

You have air in your tank, drive your car until the tank completely empties or your needle points under the ''E" then you should be good when you filler up...

Those guys might have added something in your fuel tank...You should have a check up with a garage before it ruin your motor... My friend had a guy who really hate him..One night, that guy opened his fuel cap and add something sweet in it...2 weeks later car motor was ruined. Sad thing is my friend at first was having trouble starting his car...he found that the fuel injector was stuck...so he changed the fuel injector...Car started fine then few day later, motor died...He can't claim insurance because they think it's because of the bad labor and not vandalism.

yeah, in this case I'd bet they jammed something in there, thus the fill problems. I doubt they sugared the tank. When someone does that they wouldn't typically try and steal a bunch of stuff etc. They don't want you to even know they were there. A random thief wouldn't be carrying the sugar. But rocks etc? Sure. But yeah, to be safe you could pull it and drain. Gonna have to at least pull the filler tube now anyway.

Ya I don't think that someone sugared my tank because my car has ran fine for about 3 months now.

Would air is my tank do this? Is the fuel system a closed system?
