I was at my service dealer getting a tranny issue looked at and he told me that it'd be a good idea to have the fuel injectors services at around 18,000 miles. Anyone on here had this done? Don't think this is something I can do on the weekend in the garage.....

I doubt that's needed. Use Amoco Premium. I have had many cars with lots and lots of miles, and never cleaned the injectors. Use a quality fuel (premium).

I sure read a lot of posts here with paranoid owners, and performing unneeded maintenance tasks. But; if your new to this, ther are no 'stupid' questions. Just make sure, before you go and piss money away.

i guess you guys have them in the states, but just get a bottle of fuel injector cleaner and chuck it in your tank every now and then. i do just to keep my car in tip top condition. mind you i dont feel any difference, but it's nice to know my injectors are clean

i'm not saying this is what you should do...but i haven't cleaned my injectors yet - 40K miles...that said i'm doing it next week when the car goes in the shop for tranny fluid and filter change!

I use the redline fuel system cleaner every 15k miles.
I doubt you really need the expensive dealership flush
and clean that soon. I get the redline form pep boys.
you can also order redline stuff from -> http://www.myoilshop.com/index.html

I have also heard good things about the chevron fuel
system cleaner too.

The dealership fuel system cleaner will work wonders for really high milage vehicles (80k miles etc.) but it won't really do anything for newer vehicles. Most gasolines sold today burn a lot cleaner than gas sold 5 years ago.

All grades of gasoline have the cleaner. Not to worry. Unless you see perf/fuel economy drop before a tune-up is called for - i would not do anything.
