Fuel cut, maybe boost leak. Anyone else having the same problem?

None of this was a problem til i did the tbe. I only had the cai at the time but i noticed it slightly when i took it out for a spin after installing the whole exhaust but it really happened once the intercooler got thrown on. From what all my friends are thinkin too its gotta be an afr issue and a retune should solve the issue. lets hope cobb or anyone else that releases a retune makes s*** happen!

If it is the fuel. Maybe it is the pump but also check the fuel filter. That's got me in the past before. Damn filter clogs up and i couldn't get it past 40. Swapped it and everything was fine.

According to my local Mazda tech, the MS3 has no fuel filter...just an in-tank screen/sock. I need to check the service manual on that one; I don't think I've seen one either...

You're freaking my out!!!(nailbyt)
I just install my DP this weekend and have not had any issues, hit 150MPH this morning; my MS3 is equipped with MS CAI and CP-E catted DP. I was thinking to mod the rest of the exhaust; cat-back and slap in a TMIC.

Are you telling me that if I do this I'll have fueling issues? (huh)

I have the CAI and the full TBE from CP-E, and I am having this same issue. I really don't know if it is fuel cut or what? The dealer problem is that I have no CEL. I clean out my fuel injectors and that didn't do anything. I am waiting to see if anyone can come up with whats going on?

wrong, he hit boost cut when he took off the cpe. a map clamp or bcd will fix that.

I'm pretty sure it was while he still had the CP-E.

ok so i went for a lil pull last night. 18 psi, boom fuel cut/boost cut i dotn even know which one. i was data logging the whole run and my a/f ratios were mid to high 12 the whole way. WTF i didnt change my tune at all, i put on my 2nd map which is all zeroed out and the af ratios were 12ish at 15psi

i tuned when it was 40 out, last night was 24-5 degrees out. This is REAL picky when it comes to cold weather, its beyond belief stupid. just letting every1 know, that if you got tuned when it was a lil warmer out, dont even attempt to push your car in the cold.

This probably the reason most of these engine are blowing. i dont know why this car runs so lean when it gets cold out but it does.

I don't think he would be changing maps without the CP-E.

The point I'm trying to make is that while the fuel pump may be a worthy upgrade, it is definately not a "catch-all" solution to fuel cut that some are making it out to be. There are many reasons why fuel cut is occurring and no one, at this point, has figured them all out.

ok well i am having the same problem but im beginning to not think its a total fuel cut. i have the injen cai, full tbe from corksport with no cats. when i first installed it i really felt the power but as soon as i got into 3rd 4th or 5th id be goin then boom feel like i lost everything then start up again. yesterday i installed the atp boost cut defender. well it stopped losing all the power but now it feels like it doesn't have all the punch it had when i first installed the exhaust. they do say though that the car generally will run 2-3 more psi and should be tuned or modded properly for the new gains. i was testing it yesterday and i had to go into 5th to get to 100mph which was normally when i would shift to 5th from 4th. not only that but it does sputter once i hit 5k+rpms but nothin before it. this weekend ill be installing my gauges and will go for a few test runs to see what everything is reading. after that i have the cp-e piggyback as well that ill be installing. from what ive heard at other places it has helped get rid of most the sputter and power loss. so once im done with everything i will post back up and tell my results. im expecting to have everything done by saturday.

Hmm i wasn't sure. It's just something I had wrong with my toyota

my car as of now only does it when it drops below 50degrees. i can run 19psi. all day long if it is above that. once it drops i can only go up to 16 psi. my cut will also only happen in 3rd gear or higher at about 5k every time. i just locked my boost back to a near stock level and now it stopped. i agree with driver though. the car needs more fuel. with a map clamp installed it sure as hell isnt overboost related, and as far as i have seen the only other thing that triggers fuel cut on this car is lack of rail pressure in the fuel system. the whole iat temp thing mentioned in the other thread doesnt actually trigger the cut from the cold. the fuel rail sensor triggers it once it realizes it doesnt have enough fuel to feed air that temp. when they lie to that sensor the car thinks it needs less fuel (and it will give less) until it senses knock....then it pulls a ton of timing just like they said. fuel is the answer.

ok so i installed my gauges and my cp-e standback system. i had a couple issues installing the cp-e system because one of the testing harnesses was bad but after things were cleared up i was able to get it working. i am runnins these parts: dog bone engine mount, injen cai, cork sport turbo back exhaust with test pipe, and the cp-e standback unit. i was getting fuel cut and sputtering until i installed the cp-e system. once i got the standback installed it now runs great and holds boost to red line and i get no sputtering or fuel cut or boost cut or whatever cut u wanna call it. not only that but it holds the boost and doesnt fluctuate. ive tried both of the presets with the system and it holds 15 on one till redline and 17 on the other till redline. its really a great product and i wish i woulda started with that. sure its a kick in the nads for price but its worth every penny.

im sorry but isnt Fuel-cut exactly what is says...

the its sputtering becuase your running out of fuel...

i keep hearing that evryone should wait...
the only way people are going to learn is if you do something

so just buy the Fuel Pump and if it doesnt solve it then move on to something else... and watch your A/F's your first mod on a turbo'd car should be a Wideband...so you can know how your car is responding to each mod you put on...
