FS-ZE boosted

Hi guys. I purchased what I thought was a 2002 protege engine (fs-de). But after researching I purchased a FS-ZE with the black box on the intake. I can't return it because I swapped parts onto it. Can I still use the engine? Is it safe? I know it has a higher compression ratio. Thank you.

You can run it just fine, the slightly higher CR won't hurt anything unless you push a lot of boost which would snap the rods either way. I believe the ZE was OBD1 though??

There are a couple guys that are running fsze engines. just swap everything over and you should be fine.
