ahhh no lol, been needing a stiffer rsb for a long time now u knot that :P

already sent payment to op, all andy's if he wants it

Are there blemishes on the cupholder. Might be interested if it's in good condition. It looks like to me there might be long continuous black scratch going down the driver's side.

there's like that black plastic that surrounds the opening and the shifter... thing..., and it looks like over time it's rubbed away some of the silver colour. When i pulled it off the car the scratch was completely covered up by the black ring of plastic thing (and also coffee stains... which are cleaned up now) and i hadn't noticed, but when i took off the black thing to clean it i noticed it.

Other than that it's alright, i won't call it perfect though eh? When i put it on my car (a 2001 with an automatic) the black thing moved around and as i remember i could see the scratch. It came off a p5 with a triptronic transmission, so if it went back on another p5 with the same shifter surround it might cover it back up but it'd suck if it went all the way down to florida and when you put it on it just so happened to show up.

I think your best bet would be to find one locally and look at it, i'd be sad if you bought it and weren't happy with it :'(

Thank you for being up front and honest. You're probably right in that I should pass on it. Good deal tho for someone who needs the part.

bump for "i'm trying to bust off most of the rust from the bar and brackets but they're giving me a hard time"
Someone must want a strut tower bar for their protege that also comes with the cruise control relocation bracket- i'll even include the "custom" bracket i was using for a while to hold my vaccume solenoid thing!

Bump: lowered prices- $40 for springs, and $40 for tower bar and related hardware.

Could i get the thread title changed to "p5 Tower bar and OEM MSP springs"? :D

...Somebody buy this crap so it gets put to some use, i'm willing to drive *some places in ohio to drop it off

I'm interested in the springs. If I were to get them, do you know how they would work if I got these Stagg struts as far as the lowering issue? And how much for shipping to 56001? If I do get the springs I would probs get the cupholders too (idea for a project, so want a tester to make sure it's gonna work), so include that in shipping too if possible. :)

You'd be lower in the back, i think by about 3/4 of an inch-
-as far as i was able to find, your car will only ride evenly with these springs and their matching OE tokico blues (not HPs) from a mazdaspeed protege (and not from an MP3). Hence, they're a bit of a tough sell.
I also see a lot of shock absorbers marketed as being compatible with the mazdaspeed and regular protege/p5; they'll work on both cars but i don't believe they'd work with the MSP's springs.
Gotta' be stock blues or aftermarket struts made just for the mazdaspeed (which i've never seen and don't believe exist) to use the stock springs.

Also, if you buy those staggs... please post a review after like 80,000 miles, because as far as i can find one doesn't exist. There's a lot of people saying, "i bought them and after a couple weeks they're great!" (then the thread dies, then the thread get's revived by someone saying "hey are these good?").

Okay shoot. I was hoping those would work. I wonder if there would be spacers or something I could get to make the rear sit a little higher. I don't want that constant "too much junk in the trunk" look goin on. haha Ill see what I can find and let ya know.

And I will definitely try to get a review in like that. Sadly, by 80k my ride might be in the junkyard, but I will get as close as I can!

lolz
I looked into staggs a bit because i though i'd need them for a car i was looking at- didn't get the car, but the reviews i could find were not very helpful. They were mostly just people's initial reviews and nothing about how long the shock absorbers went before blowing. I've heard the ride is good, just not how long people drove around on them for.

I wouldn't bother with any spacers, i'd be worried they'd mess up the way the springs are supposed to work and at that point it'd be better just getting new springs made for the struts you get.
If you happen to find a set of new-old-stock blues i'll probably still have these springs... since the blues are tough to find so no one wants these -_-

True true for the spacers. I will defs let ya know then! I'll see what I can find, but I'm hopin to order struts this weekend because they're getting worse (if that's even possible at this point haha).

Do you still have these? I may end up getting them cuz I found out that my rust has to be fixed sooner than I thought and I don't have time to do it myself. :/ So since I need to take it to a shop, I have to cut my budget for repairs elsewhere.

sorry mate, i actually sold them about a month ago... i guess i forgot to update this.

If someone could close/delete this thread, that would be nice... all my stuff's sold eh?
