It seems the warrantee is useless at most dealerships anyway.

I didnt even have to talk him down i bought it in january 04 it was winter time and they wanted to get rid of it it was Marked on the windshield.

you guys must live in awesome states!! I've researched the price for the mazdaspeed protege in my area and the cheapest one is like 16,00-16,500 for a 03.5 and the highest price is like 18,500. im not trying to rip people off,thats just the price ive seen them go for down here.

dude dont be worried about ripping anybody off. Get what ever you can. But I will say that in the last 6 months i think the highest i saw was like 15,500 and it had 6k miles on it. That is only on these boards though. I will say if someone offered me 16k for mine i would take it and i have 7k in mods done to it and 27k miles.

There has been a lot of talk like this.. How people got awesome deals on theirs brand new. Lets think for a sec being a salesperson I know how dealers work. You have an 03 on the lot and you are getting in 04 3's that are a new body style and your protege's are going to sit on the lot. Most people dont know but it costs money to keep a car on the lot. So what probably happened when you only paid $15000 for yours is they had a $500 or $499.95 dealership feel then you are paying $15,500 and then you had a $2500 rebate and they just wanted to get the protege off the lot. When a new bodystyle comes out the previouse one goes dor a lil song and dance. Now it is 2 years later and the car is now rare because so many people have mistreated it. It is a very desirable car being the best handling FWD car mass produced. Here in FL the car is not cheap used. You will see 05 Miatas going for a song and a dance VERY soon.

seriously,i couldn't have said it better,it seems like every where you go in fl people are wanting this car and are paying alot for them now sense they are slowly becoming very hard to find down here.
