Ok I'm not a big car person, so I have very little (almost zero car knowledge) - I currently own a 2004 Mazda 3S, which I was driving last month when I ran over a snow/ice bank that was left in the middle of the lane I was in, and felt the front underside of my car "drag" over it. Later on, I found that there was a plastic piece underneath the front of my car that was cracked, and yesterday when I went to get an oil change they removed it and told me I needed to buy a new one. The guy called it a splash guard? I'm not sure if that is what it is actually called, but he said they (Jiffy Lube) would put the new one back on for free, so I'm assuming it's a relatively simple part to replace if you know what it is. Does anybody know what the part is I'm describing?
Also, I could go to the dealership but I'd like to avoid that route (b/c of the overinflated charges dealerships are notorious for) if possible.
